Misleading & Miss Leading

Woke to a brilliant Autumn sunrise Sunday...

The rays and the golden grass just spoke warmth...
~

but it was so misleading...

it was a very chilly, frosty morning in the field.
~

Tulip tree leaves...while curled and turned up
were covered in frost...

Oak leaves were lying face down in coats of white...

Just yesterday had been sunny and bright!
~

But later...
the day did warm up and Alivia did come down...

and the frosty field looks like autumn now.

Alivia and I were surprised to find strawberries
still growing on Grampa's vines...

and in the Forsythia...
a little bird's nest with a small leaf entwined!

Then we were off...
down to the woods...explorers we would be...

I followed...with Alivia in the lead..
She often looked up...

pointing out the tallest trees.

Then I asked her to follow me...

to mushrooms I found on a log and tree...

...smashing one open...she needed to see...

even this hole again in a favorite tree...

some of these initials are hard to see...
but...if you look close at the
N
O
T

this small carved heart...you just might see!

My morning started with a misleading sun...
now it's a "Miss".....leading me home...

to a warm setting sun!

~

So now today...as I sat here with coffee...

and later again with a piece of cake...

this view out my window I did miss...

for now the view...
has been turned into this...

and just in time I have to say...
for this is what happened...the very next day.

Those leaves did fall and it rained all day...
Soon there will be...a need for raking...
heartier meals like this...even in the making...

and more photos like this...I hope to be taking.

"The End"

I hear you're chillier than we are! I do love, love, love the opening photos with the stream of sunshine through the trees. Just took my breath away!

Hi Wanda-

Oh this morning's walk was especially energizing - I love the frost covered surfaces and the sun peeking though the trees - I was warm and cold at the same time - the trees are very tall and I had to crane way up to see the tops. :-) The coffee and cake were yummy and that hearty colorful meal? Oh my, heavenly.

I so love out walks.

Love Gail
peace.....

I hope so (photos taking) I love the pics of your strolls.

This is what it is all about - nature, children, grandchildren, love, appreciation, wonder - all there in your collection of photographs. Alicia is a lucky little girl.

And I am one of your lucky blog readers, leaving feeling comforted and at peace.

Thank you . . . again!

Hi, Wanda,
I'm sad because none of your pictures are loading for me!
I'll try again tomorrow, or I'll have to wait until I get home.

'Missing everyone a lot!
So many blogs won't load for me at all. Yours did, but the pictures are all just white blanks (except for the one in your house with the coffee cup and that is VERY COZY looking!).

"HI!" to everyone!
Love you!, Eileen

Nothing like a nice walk in nippy air with an eager child to put a spring in your step. The walk also takes the guilt out of lifting the fork.
Lovely walk today and just loved "the end".

You've been having frost? That means it will be starting here soon... You have both silver and gold in your surroundings, which I love, and I'm looking forward to seeing for the first time, for me, what your winters look like where you are.

Frost AND a developing poet (like ROBERT Frost) you are!

Ahhhhh. This season. Flirting boldly between autumn's bright colors and winters drab. Calls us; calls us. Then deposits us in warm places where heart and hearth combine to comfort us with family, friends and food to keep us company.

Think I missed commenting here, Wanda, even though I read your post a couple of days ago. I just have to stop only reading and do my commenting right away or it feels as if I've done it!!

Maybe it's because my mind is going ooh and aah as I look and read all the beauty that you share. Or maybe I am just in la la land?

It's so sweet that you are giving us regular treats with videos too...thank you for that.

We even got frost down here and Michael had to scrape it off of his windshield, but fortunately it has gone bye bye now.

You find so many treasures and so many hearts when you go for walks...maybe it is because you are a sweetheart so they show up for you.

Alivia looks darling whether you catch her coming or going in pictures!

blessings and hugs,

marcy

p.s. The food just ALWAYS looks soooo yummy, yet another of your artistic talents is the magnificent way you "present" the food!!

FINALLY! I get to see this beautiful post!
Really fantastic photography, Wanda, you've outdone yourself!
This was a beautiful walk, and it felt nice to be following you and Alivia around. You're so lucky to have these woods to hike. I've often thought that about people who live in mountainous areas to hike too, or people who live on the beach to be able to walk the seashore whenever their heart desired. Such a Blessing to be surrounded by nature that way.
Thanks for sharing your Blessings with us, and thanks for sharing your home too.
It really does feel like a nice visit to a friend's home, and nice walk around her property with her!

I love each and every photo and video, but I think my most favorite is Alivia arriving for her walk with you! I always love the 'start' of anything!

Great post, Wanda!
Love to you!, Eileen
