Since my last post...beautiful blue skies
have found their way here.
Just as the squirrels.....who were high in their nests.....
.....have made way to the seeds.....that they like best.
The snow has since melted.....but before it cleared.....
Flickers found their way to the heated water.....we keep near.....
Eastern Towhees ate the seeds when the squirrels disappeared.....
.....and over on the hillside.....you could see sleeping deer!
Just after this photo of Herhusband coming down the drive.....
Our lives and Christmas were quickly put on hold.
He needed open heart surgery.....we were suddenly told.
For two weeks.....I drove.....up this snow covered drive.....
going to the hospital.....to visit Herhusband inside.
An art card made by Grandaughter Amanda.....
brought him some much needed cheer.
Alivia signed her name in cursive.....
wishing us a Happy New Year!
Herhusband is home and this.....his first breakfast
on the morn of this New Year's Eve.
That's Alivia's solar powered flower....
that she so sweetly once.....presented to me.
"light scrambled eggs and vegetarian sausage"
So.....just like the Bamboo that was recently lowered.....
.....but now has regained it's strength to stand tall.....
Our days have also turned more rosy.....
Thanks to Many and All....
who sent kind e-mails and good wishes....
and especially.....
Bernie's Sweet Surprise Call.
There are Blue Skies Behind the Clouds!

Your poem and photos are breath taking. Such a talent you are. I am sending the best of healing thoughts your way for herhusband, may he quickly resume his strength.
Oh, Wanda, this is beautiful! And so much more beautiful is reading that your husband is back home and things are looking up!
I'm so happy to hear this news.
I would imagine that you must feel like you can breathe again.
I loved every photo and I especially liked seeing the cards and that wonderful welcome home breakfast!
I will keep you and your husband in my prayers.
Love to you,
Eileen
Wanda, Somehow I missed reading about what you and your husband were going through over the xmas period. That must have been very scary for you both.
Love all the sweet metaphors in this post - like the tree bent over by the weight and finding its way to again stand tall. I'm so happy the operation is over and the two of you are back together again.
Now, please - you must read The China Study (Campbell) to find out about how to reverse heart disease and prevent cancer. Perhaps you have already read it. A great cookbook to go along with it is "Clean Start" or "Clean Food" by the same author.
Take care of yourself as you take care of you husband. Warm thoughts going across the miles to you.
Dear Wanda, It was so good read your uplifting post. I think that Herhusband will recover quickly in the house at the end of the curving lane, surrounded by the love of Family. Sending you hugs - take care of yourself, too. I love the way that bamboo has sprung upright again - a wonderful contrast to the beaten down photo. I'm thinking of you.
Wanda,
So good to see your post & SO happy that your husband is home again... I hope he is on the mend & feeling well. You have been on my mind a lot lately! What a stressful time for you & your family. I hope this new year brings many blessings & good health for you & those you love.♡
Sigh...I do so love to read and look at your photos, and hate it so when it ends. I'd like it to keep going and going and going....debbie
yay the lost post showed up.....I love knowing that herhusband is home and doing so well. I know it must be easier on you not to have to drive every day. I am just happy for both of you and all your family that everything is okay now. I just know he will heal much faster at home. Love all your photo's especially the cards from the girls. Big hugs to Alivia.....:-)
Blue skies indeed. I have been waiting - to see your husband home. Tears of joy from MN to you. Happy blue skies. Happy New Year. How sweet it can be.
Hello Wanda such beautiful and amazing scenes!
Wishing you and your family a blessed New Year. Thank God that everything is fine now and he is home.
My thoughts ans prayers.
Regina
PS. took a blog break for 3 mos.
Dear Wanda ~ I'm so pleased your husband is home and that you can both breath deeply again. He is the most fortunate man to have you caring for him.
I marvel at the sights you bring us here, and also the beautiful birds whose names are completely new to me.
Light, love & harmony my friend x
Hi Wanda!
I'm so glad to hear that your husband is doing well and is home with you. The love of family and the warmth of home is so healing.
Being surrounded by beautiful nature that is all around you is also so good for the body and soul.
Your birds are so kindly cared for. The warm water must be such a treat. I need to look into this for my birdies.
Sending you wishes for continued blue skies and sunny hearts ♥
blessings to you always ~ Maria
Such beautiful photos and your words are lovely.
What a frightening time you have had and I wish Herhusband a speedy recovery.
Love the squirrel!
Dear Wanda,
Blue skies are especially beautiful after prolonged cloudy days. I never imagined such a frightening thing happened to your family during the interval from your last post. While reading, I was remembering a Christmas Eve when my father was sent to hospital by an ambulance. Things happen suddenly and make our lives upside down, but I’m glad you must be relieved now that everything is going to be all right again. I pray Herhusband will recover to the fullest sooner.
Bamboo trees bend but never break: for that reason, bamboo is one of three trees favored on auspicious occasion in Japan together with evergreen pine and ume (Japanese apricot) which bloom and bear fruits. Now that your husband is back, take care of yourself, too, Wanda.
Wishing you all a wonderful 2011 full of big smiles and good health.
Yoko
Oh, a what a Happy New Year for you with the blessing of Herhusband back home with his family! May he get stronger every day. I can 'hear' the happiness in your voice. ♥alaine
I'm very happy your husband is home again. What you've been through must have been scary, and I hope he's back to his old self very soon. Wishing you and your loved ones all the best for 2011!
You saved your self a scolding by adding 'vegetarian sausage' as a captian. Great pictures and I really glad your husband is home. Wishing you all the best this year. - GQ
I have been waiting to see you posting again, and I am so happy to see that your husband is doing well. Being home with his family and surrounded by your love will speed his recovery. Just as the bamboo has sprung back he will soon be standing tall too. I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
I didn't know that your husband had been so ill, I do hope that he soon recovers his full health and strength. Your photographs are, as ever, beautiful. I always love to see bare trees oitlined against the sky in winter especially with a sunrise or sunset behind them.
Heartwarming blog! I like all the lovely pictures.
Thankful for the blue skies in YOUR life. The colorful card Alivia made, the red ornaments on your tree, and the flower on the breakfast tray pepper your post as if to season your world with hope.
May strength and full recovery return to herhusband in the coming days and weeks.
I have missed you so but knew you really had a plate full of anxiety to deal with.
Your posts are always so soothing and comforting, I can only imagine that your dear husband in your care 24/7 has no choice but to recover quickly and completely.
Like GQ, I was glad to see that was 'vegetarian sausage'. Hope he doesn't mind the changes but you are such a great cook, I'm sure that sausage was yummy.
Do keep getting better husband of Wanda. My prayers have been with you both since I heard.
Hi Wanda,
It really warms my heart to see this post and to know that your husband is doing well and at home once again. Where he should be!
I loved the bamboo, it's huge! I heard that it gets big which is why I never planted any in my tiny yard! LOL, I figured that it would take over the entire yard!
I'm so happy to see you back!
Love Di ♥

Thank you for taking me on your lovely walk, and to hear that Herhusband is getting well after surgery is wonderful to learn. I didn't know he was sick either, so it's lovely to find he is on the mend. Hugs to you, and may 2011 be a better year!
Wanda. Happy New Year!
I am so pleased to know that your husband has been recovering and he is home again with you. It’s been almost one month since the last post of the Moments of Mine. I think it must have been hard time for Wanda and your husband. I believe that your husband is very happy to be in his family’s love and beautiful surroundings that have been familiar to him.
His first dish is enough delicious. I am hoping his full recovery and he will be able to have much more various rich meals Wanda always makes!
Yes, your bamboos are really powerful, gracefully springing, encouraging you all.
I look forward to your post again.
Please take care Wanda.
With smile *Tomoko from Japan*

While I am sad to hear that Herhusband was in the hospital...I'm sooo glad to hear that he is now home and on the mend!! His breakfast is fit for a king and I'm sure he is that in your house! The poem and Christmas card are icing on the cake!
I see you live in southern Ohio...you live in such a beautiful spot!! I live in north eastern Ohio and we are getting snow again today.
Your bamboo is pretty bent...I bet it's gorgeous in the summer!
Happy New Year...hope everyone stays well at your house!!
Wonderful photos, as usual, Wanda. My two favorite are Herhusband coming down the drive in the snow and the snowy landscape with trees and a rosy sky. And, of course, I always cherish the food photos.
Vegetarian sausage? Does he want you to make that again?
So glad your man is home. Take good care, Wanda. I love the line about your granddaughter writing in cursive. Such a huge deal, I know.
What wonderful news that your husband has made a good recovery. I didn't know about the surgery until after all was over....and I do thank Bernie for letting me know. My prayers continue to be with you and your husband.

Hi Wanda...just stopping in to let you know I am thinking of you and herhusband. Still sending healing thoughts... Hope all continues to be well...
Dang it, I'm behind on my Blogs and I've only just visited to find that herhusband had to have surgery. I'm so terribly sorry your family has gone thru this scary time and hope that he is doing really good, healing and getting better each day. Both my parents have had bypass surgery so I know what it 'means'...they got thru it well and so will herhusband! Hugs, love and prayers to you both as he heals. This is another lovely post and I'm so glad I found you and your Blog. Great things are wished for you in 2011!
Dear Wanda, your photos, the poem, the music are so sweet. I am glad the rosy days have returned and that your husband is home & much better.
Love from Texas,
Lizzy
Where have I been? And why have I been there and not here, wishing you all well?
I can imagine nothing better for a recovering surgery patient than to have you as nursemaid. And, as scary as all of it no doubt was, how fortunate to find out the surgery was needed before a disaster occurred.
I wish I could observe deer lying down at their leisure.
Lovely poem...My prayers continue for your dear husband and for all of you.
Stay cozy, stay warm and just love each other.
I pray things will be all smooth sailing for you all soon!
Hugs and hope!
Enjoying you pretty playlist, Wanda!
*wishing lovely moments with your husband and beautiful family.
keeping you and your husband in thought & prayer,
love,
~Maria
I came by to visit and let you know I think of you daily. Hope you're having lots of days with that rosy glow in your sky. We're having a blizzard here in the mountains. It is the most snow so far this winter - at least 2 feet and drifting plus still snowing. We'll ski in the morning. Take Care and Hello to Herhusband.
Dear Wanda, so glad to hear your skies are getting a little more rosy and blue. Hoping and praying for a speedy and full recovery for herhusband. Hope to hear soon that things are going smoother in your corner of the world. Your pictures are beautiful as always...sending love your way...Jacquelyn
