My drive is wet.....but it does NOT look like this!
Nor does it look like this anymore!
The snow has melted!
~

Warmer temperatures...
have given it a slightly foggy dreary look...
~
and I think.....the turkeys are taking over...
~
I saw what I thought was a Turkey Vulture...
high in a tree......Wrong.

It was.....Turkeys.....Three!
~
~
I never knew they could fly so high.
The noise they made...
with their large wings...
was a flappity floppity sound...
rather loud and startling!
Another time
I found prints they had made in the snow
...with their wings.
~
in an area...where the deer had been sleeping.
~
Sleeping after....
a party they had...
a party they had...
in the field...the day before!

Here's a closeup of one print maker now.
have me puzzled.....
start and end abruptly.....
so I guess...they were made by a bird.....
this strange looking creature!
Treasure Hunt Tree...dressed in snow!
finding her treasure!
a gift of a necklace she made herself!
they had a Santa's Gift Shop for the students.
Alivia bought this beautiful ring for me.
When giving it,
When giving it,
she smiled with pride.....
and I wear it that way too!
~
that she helped bake...
it's the least...
I could do in return.
~
Herhusband...
gave me an after Christmas gift too!
After watching me make a single cup of
coffee.....my way....by....
gold mesh filter.....I can brew a single cup...
and the coffee pot/filter holder remain clean.
Herhusband bought me this....
uses little pods of coffee, tea or cocoa....
and there's nothing to clean...

That's a fine flock of turkeys you have, Wanda! I love the wingprints in the snow.
The mystery prints are puzzling, and I see a pattern in them. Hmmmm...
Cool coffee pot. As always you have shared a wonderful photo story.I love coming here. :0)
Your lovely stories always make me smile. I didn't realize turkeys could fly that high either and they are really noisy!
What a sweetheart Alivia is, but I know you know that already.
Sunny :)
HH and Alivia are so thoughtful, and I know where they learned it from being the wonderful wife and grandmother you are. I love the idea of that single coffee maker....the pictures tell me you had a lovely walk in the snow and captured everything so beautifully...big hugs to Alivia and much love to you......:-)
Our snow is melting and I remarked to my husband this afternoon that the sight is rather forlorn and "dumpy" looking....I don't think there's enough snow to hold tracks currently. We have FOG though....
Your jewelry is delightful. I can read the delight in your words.
Enjoy that coffee pot! I've wondered if that might not be a good purchase for us at Gatescroft???? (Although I'm not sure a single mug would ever be enough).
Hope your week is blessed and safe.
Oh, how I love coming up the curvy lane to visit you! I don't care if it's wet, dry, snowy, or foggy! I would sit in one of those comfy chairs and sip a coffee from your new Keurig. I see that besides the wonderful Happy Face necklace, Alivia splurged for a DIAMOND ring! You lucky Grandma. What a sweet girl she is - very deserving of those cookies. Keep dreaming about spring, Wanda! PS Such interesting tracks today.
Hi Wanda! Thank you for such an interesting walk today. The turkeys sound pretty intense... You CAN hear and SEE the action of their wings! Their wing-prints were very cool to find in the snow! What a thoughtful granddaughter Alivia is! And baking those yummy chocolate chip cookies would make for a grand afternoon!
Dreaming of spring with you~
even though we're having more snow tonight~

I didn't know turkeys could fly so high or so fast either! Great video!
And I love your jewelry! Alivia is so sweet!
Jayden had a Christmas Fair at school and that's where he got his gifts for us too. So dear to think of them picking something out for us (mine was a cute little boy bear figurine, and he gave it to me and said, "This is me, Umma, this is your boy!" Really brought tears to my eyes.) A memory to cherish.
I love your property so much, no matter the season or the weather, it's beautiful!
My husband gifted me with a Keurig coffee maker a few years ago, and now I am so spoiled I don't like to drink any other coffee! Well, maybe a good cup of diner coffee but that's about it! I don't even like Dunkin' Donuts or Starbucks anymore! But I haven't tried Tim Horten's yet, I'll making a trip to one in Manhattan soon.
Enjoy your gift, it is one that will have you heaping many, many thanks on your husband!
Loved all your photographs! Especially Alivia & her jewelry! And the cookies! And Spring flowers!
Great post!
All the best,
Eileen
Hi Wanda,
I am intriqued by the mysterious prints in the snow. I love a mystery. Perhaps they are bird prints that the wind tried to whisk away, or a hovering bird who did not like to get cold feet? HMMMMMM.
I love your new coffee maker too, and the jewelry from Alivia. : )
The cookies look so good too!!!!
((((HUGS)))) T
I love wild turkeys Wanda, I think they are beautiful! I also remembered Alivia's treasure hunt tree. And by the way, the photo of your foggy drive was very groovy!
Love Di
You my dear are a very lucky lady!
Yes, we have been amazed by turkeys in our area as well. One day we saw nearly 30 in three different locations while driving. We had NEVER seen more than 5 or 6 before and then mostly always in the same place. We were surprised.
I love your twin recliners. Your place is so delightful and comfortable and peaceful.
Sweet gentle Alivia has already absorbed some of her grandma's appreciation for all things bright and beuatiful.
Love your moments . . . thanks for sharing.
Another lovely look at your delightful home and surroundings. I am never sure about coffee makers, every one seems to have a different opinion about which is the best. I am afraid they are all out of our price bracket, and lets face it, I am mainly a tea drinker.
I hadnt realised you still had wild turkeys, we have some on Kangaroo Island that have gone wild but are definite imports. What I do have at the moment are 3 small pea chicks who may or maynot survive, I think their mother is a young one and she doesnt seem to know quite what to do with them.
Turkeys stay (roost)in trees at night... Lovely shots of them flying, Wanda.
I think the snow mystery is interesting...and would love to know wht some visitors think those prints might be.
I like the 'time line' video at the beginning of your blog...and the ending of your blog has me hungry. I'm going to the kitchen and make myself a cup of mocha.
Uhmmmm.
Beautiful!
Beautiful Wanda..we have a lot of turkeys that visit, but not as many as you have..It is amazing hubby and I just went out this week in the rhino and I took pictures of different signs of animals in the snow..You and I think a lot alike..Herhusband sure is nice to think of you..And I am looking forward to spring, but not gonna rush winter away, makes me older..lol...take care..
Dreaming of spring with you...
Lovely walk, as usual. It's funny we both posted tracks in the snow, and no, I don't know what made the tracks, either yours or mine. I think I will have to do more investigation. BTW, I like your daydream of spring.
Your days are filled with small wonders. I never knew that turkeys could fly. And the necklace Alivia made is darling.
We had nice and warm temperatures yesterday and the sun was out When I stepped outside on the patio I heard the birds sing and they sounded like Spring! Counting the days!
Wow...those turkeys are amazing! Never saw so many in one place outside a farm. I loved the photo of your driveway with the white streaks of snow. Thanks for sharing ;-)
your friend,
Janet
The turkeys are wandering all over Minnesota - I must say I get a tremendous kick out of them. Waking up and seeing a group in the driveway.
Lovely jewelry, lovely coffee. Lovely reminders that winter - even slushy, foggy winter has its charms.
Landscapes after the snow melts are like our homes after the decorations come down. OK.... but they just don't compare well.
The wings in the snow were neat, I would not have known what they were.
Would have loved to have "crashed" the deer party.
Alivia is one sweet child but you had a hand in that also so feel proud.
Lovely "bling" she made.
Hi Wanda-
Oh how I love your nature land - it is so beautiful. I really liked the foggy picture - loved it. And your animal prints are beautiful too. I was rady for that yummy coffee and ome made cookies after our Winter walk, And I love the gifts you received, Alivia is precious.
Have a wonderful dayt
Love Gail
peace......
Hi Wanda,
Even in the fog your property is beautiful! It is always wonderful to go walking with you. It is so nice to see that precious love and bond that you and Alivia have. Both of you are so very lucky.
I just finished the book, Gifts From The Sea. I love it. Thank you.
Take care.
Have a wonderful day.
Another wonderful, well-thought out, enjoyable post Wanda, thanks for the lovely visit!
Hi Wanda, thanks for your visit. Nice blog. I love the colors. To make a book, just go to http://blogger.sharedbook.com and you just make your selections. I don't know if it is worth it or not but we will see. I have stacks of journals from years past and I just though maybe this would be easier reading for my descendants. LOL

Thank you for the beautiful comment left on my blog. It's one of the nicest I've ever received.
PS -- Nice flock of birdie feet you have in your snow there!!
It's so nice to meet you Wanda, thank you so much for visiting my blog.
What a beautiful blog you have! I love all the pictures of the woods and animals. And we have something else in common....A Keurig, I never knew coffee could be so good.
A new friend, you have made my day. Best wishes.
I'm just stopping back to thank you for all your nice comments to me, Wanda.
And I love that you saw the 'three sisters' in the banner/cupcake girls picture and in the Sisters In Faith Award picture, it's what I always think of too! Even if it's three little old ladies on a greeting card, if it's three females I think of 'we three' sisters, and I remember I used to sign cards a lot to my parents 'we three' when it was from us girls.
Thanks, Wanda, for all your visits and for always being so supportive.
Love to you,
Eileen
Thank you for a relaxing and refreshing visit at your place again today. I needed it while sipping my cup of coffee during my morning break at work!
I love especially the photos at the beginning of your blog with the landscape with and without snow!
:-)
I loved that foggy picture of your driveway...it has a lot of "mood" in it!
And the wild turkeys were fantastic!
Our spring is a long, long way off up here!
Oh...I was out on that murky, murky Monday too. Wasn't the fog weird? It was like even the air was gray. My hubby gave me the exact coffee maker (I use mine for tea a lot--just a quick cup of water at the touch of a button!) Love your turkeys. Wish some would visit us--we're not that far away from you!
We both live in the vicinity of deer and many varieities of birds, but I never see red ones here! I have also seen some snow prints that have got me guessing lately, but mainly hooved ones, much fun imagining what occurs out of sight and in the dark. We're also having dull, overcast and misty days. More so than ever I yearn for spring, probably because I'm more involved with outdoors than previously.
Strange prints in the snow. I've never seen anything like it. You are lucky to get photos of deer. Here, I'd have to get up pretty early to get a photo. Lovely post.
I am so intrigued by those odd snowprints...!
And...oh, Wanda...you've gone over to the Keurig side... I will no longer be able to think of you as I grind my beans and wait for my Mr. Coffee to finish brewing. I'll have to up my intake of Eight O'Clock to keep them in business. :-)
As it is I have only one store where I can buy big bags of whole bean Eight O'Clock.
I do love Alivia's jewelry gifties to you...true treasures!
Hi Wanda, thanks so much for taking the time to read my blog - your snow photos look very familiar, even though we are in different countries - we have pheasant roaming about, not turkeys though. Can't figure out your mystery tracks though.
On a random note, I am in love with your coffee mug with the trees and birds on.
Hi Wanda. That's a lot of turkeys. Great post and the drive photo was rather cool looking.
Cindy
Wanda this is such a beautiful post. Your drive way is lovely! I am especially fond of foggy mornings. A treasure tree? What a wonderful concept. I was looking at those coffee makers myself recently. They have so many delicious flavors of coffee to chose from. Your gifts are precious ♥ I would never take them off :>)
Oh my. First visit and I am in love with your blog.
You just live in a nature park, don't you?! I love the turkey wing prints in the snow...how cool is that? I also adore the most recent shot of your driveway...it looks very otherworldly and mysterious.
I have the same exact Cuisinart! I don't know if I would like the Keurig. I don't like my coffee superstrong and most of the pods make it too strong for me.
Alivia's treasure tree is fantastic! Does she find many treasures there?
I loved the video of the turkeys flying. Talk about being right there with you! A visit with you is like a tonic. It is so calming and so beautiful. You and your granddaughter have a real bond. Her presents were lovely and she gave them to a lovely person. Thanks for your visits and your kind words.
Did anyone else think the tracks looked like an Arabic printing? Do you suppose someone is sending you a message like "I want to live like you and be with you."
Whether it is wet,or snow covered or in summer, it looks beautiful in every hue. Your blog is such a sight for sore eyes! Thank you so much!
I must say, I thought I Alivia made a beautiful necklace! If I were to do it, I'd string together pearls. She has put in so much more work there! A pat on the back and a huge hug :-)
I would so want to taste the way you make coffee! It is so delicious! :D
I am not sure what those prints are. We had about 25 turkeys in the field byh our house the other day and I have seen their tracks and the wind tracks. I have used hubby's turkey call to call them in while out in the woods. I may try it this year and take the camera with me. As always, I loved the photos.
Well, I was waiting for another lovely post from you so that my comment wouldn't be so hard for you to find, but I can't wait any longer and this is such a lovely post.
You are so creative, Wanda, love the comparison pictures for the seasons...it adds so much perspective to everything. Thank you for taking so much time to give me/us these works of art posts that you do.
Please tell Alivia that I loved her gift to you too and the fact that you baked cookies together too.
Had not idea that turkeys would rub their wings in the snow like that. Are they making snow turkey angels?
blessings and warm hugs,
marcy
a
What beautiful pictures...that is a LOT of turkeys :)
I esp. love all the pics of the birds..
I love your coffee maker...NICE!!
Hope you are happy and well...
Stay safe and warm :)
Love, Jerelene
What a lovely post - a rose-tinged glimpse into the life of a contented woman. I quite enjoyed this, Wanda.
LOve your woods and your driveway and your granddaughter and your photos and that yummy looking cuppa...just a great post! Thank you!
