While walking down my drive...of all places...
I discovered this small heart.
It's still deer hunting season, so there's no walking...
in the woods or down to the creek.
I've been busy in other ways though.
Seems my computer, with all of my photos...
has slowly come to be very unreliable.
It's an age thing!
Being...
that mine was networked with Herhusband's
computer and printer in another room...
...we decided to purchase an all in one...
computer and monitor.
Needless to say...it's taking some getting used to.
It's an age thing too...I guess!
At least the home page came with a lovely field of lavender!
Above the house one evening at sunset...
there was a sky of lavender, pink and blue!
So in a way...I in real life...had a field of lavender too!
You've seen my field with the doe and twins before...
where they are usually content to graze.
In the field we have a garden area...
surrounded by a 6 ft. high wire fence to keep the deer out.
This deer is NOT looking in...
She's looking out.
She and another had rammed through...
a removable drive through section!
Trapped...
they repeatedly tried jumping the fence...but failed.
Herhusband went over and widened the opening...
so they could finally...see their way out.
This is one of the twins by the bench this side of the field.
He/she escaped the ordeal!
The bench on the other side of the field just barely escaped...
a falling tree.
One that was damaged and needed to be cut.
A neighbor needed firewood...
so he is finishing up!
We had just had a dusting of snow a few days before!
Mostly though...
the skies have been an 'Indian Summer' deep blue.
We've had several warm days...great for walking...
but still...
we're staying fairly close to home, hunters you know.
Sometimes grandson Andrew walks with me...
.....when he's not on his dirt bike!
On this day in the field...he had just gotten off...
and the helmet hair needed fixed!!!
It's an age thing!
We had gone to the field after noticing ...
the fire chief and ambulance...by the end of the drive.
Within minutes we could hear a helicopter approaching.
Air Care touched down as we watched.
They boarded a patient quickly and were off !
The township owns a building that sits close to our drive.
The leaves are still clinging to the Beech trees
and way off in the distance a deer hunter
has a stand high in one of those trees.
I have a photo, but it's on the 'unreliable' computer.
Transferring photos from one to the other has yet to be done.
I do have photos of the squirrels...
feasting on the Dogwood berries...
and jumping from limb to limb....
working hard to get their fill.
My meals are easier to come by.....
Mushroom Alfredo Noodles
Vegetarian Sausage Spaghetti...
Salmon with Baked Smashed Potatoes & Spinach...
Mozzarella Chicken Breasts on a Bed of Spinach & Pears
Turkey Breast, Havarti Cheese, Roasted Peppers, & Spinach.
Sometimes sandwiches just have to do...
just like this simple post...I have left for you!
By the way...the photo below was taken on November 3rd.
The day after Herhusband's and my 47th Wedding Anniversary!
I think the marriage stands a strong chance, just like the Oak tree.
It's an aged thing too!
Hopefully the next post will have a larger variety of views.
I just need to get out and take more photos...
to place on 'Moments Of Mine' for You!
~ ♥ ~ Wanda ~ ♥ ~

Lovely post...and you fill me with awe at the beauty you surround yourself. Your meals made me so hungry. I am fasting for a blood test tomorrow to check my cholesterol...so yummy and pretty. They looked like you cut them from a cooking magazine! You are quite the artist in all aspects of your wonderful life! Peace and continued happiness to you and yours.
Lovely and peaceful Wanda. I hope those hunters don't hurt your deer friends. I have that same field of lavendar screen image on my new wide-screen computer. It's glorious isn't it?
Good Morning Wanda!
Another wonderful post..I love your sky photos and the adorable deer families. We have been seeing a 10 pointer hanging around in our back yard lately. Avoiding the hunters, I'm sure.
I'm waiting for my dinner invite to arrive in the mail ;-)
Have a lovely week
Janet xox
Thank you for another walk, although close to home, and the great images of dinners I now want to make.
Hugs,
Lois
Late Happy Anniversary.
I have an all in one and enjoy the lack of clutter.
Beautiful pictures!
Ahh, beautiful. All the way through.
I'd like to go grocery shopping with you; I think you would inspire me!
I meant to say, about the deer . . . one of the twins apparently failed to inherit the greed-unto-trappedness gene.
Happy Anniversary Wanda! I'm sure your husband is a happy man (judging from the food you serve him) !
Your new computer looks just like my new computer LOL, HP touchsmart 600. I love the bigger screen but I'm not anywhere near understanding how to do the touch stuff yet, ha.
Hello Wanda. Congratulations to you and your husband, may you enjoy many more happy years together. I love the 'it's an age thing' something I shall use too. If you want to have an idea of where I am google 'Dunster' my nearest village - when I walk there I have to go through some 10ft hign gates that are there to stop the deer proceeding. I think it is a huge compliment that your deer want to be so close to you ♥
Hej Wanda! Happy anniversary. I like the way you've photographed the oak tree and comparing it to your marriage. Lovely photos of the deer - I hope they are okay - and that fabulous blue sky. Now there are no leaves on the trees here either after storm and rain. People are running like wild in the city shopping for Christmas! Your food-photos make my mouth water! Delicious.
Cheers
Grethe ~~~~ watering mouth
I understand "The age thing" Wanda, especially with the computer. I've had mine for several months and still don't understand it all! Having a bigger screen is nice.
It is deer season here too, I love to watch them but mostly we are watching out for them! I almost hit one two weeks ago. Thank God I saw it.
I saw your sprinkling of snow and just hoped that it wouldn't head this way. We don't USUALLY get snow until December but you just never know. I love your heart rock and dear photos, glad that they found there way out. Happy Belated Anniversary Wanda! Love Di ♥
Lovely photos, Wanda. Given the looks of that wonderful food, I think I am coming to your house for Thanksgiving. Have a wonderful holiday.
Your doe and twins are probably trying to avoid being hit by one of those hunters. I'm glad they are still okay and hope they make it through hunting season. Congratulations on 47 years married, I think you have a good chance at making this marriage work! :-)
Lovely post ...I adore naked trees against a vibrant sky. I only have one complaint ....WHERE ARE THE RECIPES for all that yummy food??? lol
Thanks for the comment re Buffy
Happy anniversary, Wanda! How speciaI know I will need to get acclimated to a new one. Sigh.l that is. I love the lavender sky. Oh my! And you know I am mesmerized by the food. It's deer season here also (although not in our suburban neighborhood). My upstairs computer which I love and where I write is ageing. Sigh.
Great post! Great meals! And I always get good ideas from you.
I'm wondering if all my blogger woes are really computer woes too. It really gets frustrating. When my pictures are loading easily I try to do lots of posts at once and save them as drafts, otherwise I'm sunk. And I still can't access so many blogs, it's very frustrating when this is my only way of communicating with some friends. Oh well.
I loved coming here today, so nice to walk with you. But please wear very bright colors during hunting season! I don't blame you for not wanting to wander too far!
Amazing how the deer broke through your fence and amazing photos of them!
And great shots of the helicopter too. And, of course, I always love seeing photos of your family!
'Love your BIG computer screen! That's what we have too, and it's something I really needed with this failing eyesight. I've had a lot of embarrassing things happen to me lately due to failing eyesight!
Have a great week!
Love to you, Eileen
PS ~ LOVE the new heart rock!
Gosh I have missed walking with you. Glad you are back in business.
Belated Happy anniversary. I am sure you two re-upped for many more.
Those poor twins, hope the hunters don't find them. Know what you mean about the hunters. I wear orange to even walk down the road.
Someday however, I will learn to have breakfast before coming here. You made me sooo hungry.
Envious of your snow and am so glad you are back.
What a great post! I do enjoy these so much. My daughter and I really enjoyed the deer.
Hello Wanda, Happy 47 years to you and Herhusband! It's a good reason for celebration. I've been looking at the heart rock and even enlarged it to try and figure out what those background colors are. Chalk? The photo of the young deer with the grasses and red bench is wonderful - so serene. I also like the curving lane under a dusting of snow. Bob just left for the ski area, and I'm going to start up the back trail. I wish I had one of your meals ready for our own dinner!
WANDA-
Happy Anniversary!!! I so love your natureland and I would so love to walk about t with you, rollator in tow - and your meals look so yummy. And you have mastered your new computer quite well. :-)
Love to you
Gail
peace......
Happy Anniversary to you and your hubby! 47 years! wow! I congradulate you both! That is wonderful. This coming August will be our 40th and I thought that was a long time! lol The post was just great! Love reading them. They put me in a mellow mood, and I really hate it when they end!! Have a great day! ...debbie
Yes indeed, congratulations! It's tempting to think that your marriage - your life, in fact - is as soulfoul, peacful and beautiful as your posts. I do hope so.
This was utterly lovely, Wanda. I remember a heart-stone from some time ago - what are the odds that you would find another one?
And Happy Thanksgiving to you, too.
Happy anniversary. What a sweet post. And your meals looks so delicious. I over-cooked the meat today and got in a bad mood, which was silly, but it was just one of those things ...
I enjoyed your photos as always. And happy anniversary!
p.s. I'm having a cookbook giveaway at my blog if you're interested!
A lovely walk, lovely food and a happy anniversary!
I think my age thing is my knee and bits of the body that dont seem to do what I want them to do. I am looking forward, I hope, to pain free walking soon, but that maybe is a hope that wont be fulfilled, its an age thing!
Just LOVE your site!! The pictures are phenomenol! Love the heart stone and then all the nature and deer shots -and just when I think there can't be any that are any better....there are all those marvelous looking food shots!!! YUM!!! Great post!!
PS....I'd like to know more about your new computer...all in one?? Nice looking too!
What a lovely post Wanda, - I am just getting dinner and you do inspire me with your wonderful meals. And 'the age thing'! Charles and I have just graduated to new computers too, - he has a laptop to inspire him to get back to blogging in comfort, and I am having a dreadful time trying to transfer my numerous generations of family history from one Family Tree Maker to another, hoping all is not lost! Thank you for lovely photos and words - especially your sidebar quote on gratitude!
Happy Anniversary Wanda!
So beautiful post.
The field of lavender on the screen is beautiful, but your real surroundings are much more beautiful with your lovely woods, beautiful creek and many simple little pleasures.
Tinker bell must have been surprised to see the light snow covering your garden!
I like to see your meals and the arrangements on your beautiful plates. I wish I could share your delicious meals!
*Red rose…Tomoko*
Happy belated Anniversary to you and herhusband....I think you two are going to make it....lol
Those poor sweet deer, but I know you two would be good to them as you were and helped them find their way out, gosh I hope they stay out of the way of hunters. Your meals look so good especially the Salmon and I smile whenever I see a heart as I think of my dear friend Wanda (it is surprising since we have become friends and you have shown me the hearts I see them often) Big Hugs to Miss Alivia, .....:-) Hugs
We have the same new computers, now I know who I can call when I have a problem...xo
Congratulations on your wedding anniversary. Your photos are wonderful, I love seeing your world, so very different to mine. And you meals look fantastic!
Happy Anniversary, Wanda!
I'm sure the deer can be a nuisance sometimes, but they sure are CUTE! Is it hunting season for them? Maybe that's why they're hiding out in your yard! Your meals, as always, make my mouth water... and I haven't even had breakfast yet! Enjoy the season, good luck w/ your new computer, and I hope hunting season is over soon so you can get back to your walks that I know you love!
:)
Happy Anniversary! ♥ I put on my hunter orange just incase you were walking today.:) I also hope your deer are safe. Wanda, have you ever counted how many hearts you have found? I keep looking and have found a few. I will post them one day. Your food presentations are nice and send me to the fridge. I wouldn't dare show a photo of what I prepare for lunch.Dee
Ray just did a little kindness for me (one of those little 'nothing' things that mean the world!), and it got me to thinking about couples with 'staying power' and I thought of you and your husband, which made me think of your Anniversary, which prompted me to think "I think I forgot to wish them a Happy Anniversary!", so here I am again ~
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
And I know it's coming up to a painful sort of bittersweet time of year for you, I'll say a prayer.
Love to you,
Eileen
Congrats on 47 years of marriage. I love your comparison with the aged oak tree.
My computer also is getting aged and not working very well, especially when it comes to dealing with my many many thousands of photos, even with most on external hard drives. I want to get a new computer, but I so dread the transfer of everything that I keep putting it off.
Hi Wanda,
Happy Anniversary! We got a new computer recently because yes, mine was aging, too. It is so nice to get new things.
I love seeing all the deer. I am definitely going to try the turkey breast sandwich, but eliminate the cheese. I try to say away from it.
Take care.
Smiles to you.
...the worry of hunters keeps me out of a few of the forests around here too. Better safe than sorry... Love the first photo of the heart rock... Hope you adjust quickly to the new computer setup. Computers...grr! Also...you are a fab cook. How can you come up with so many different meals...and make them all look so good. Ack, our menus pale in comparison.
Belated happy wedding anniversary! Wanda, your our husband must have been happy with your wonderful cooking spiced up with a hint of love for 47 years.
As to the age thing, I've had the same experiences, but still growing old is growing up for us, isn't it?
You've showed how you and your family have made efforts to keep good relationships with deer. Coexistence with wild animal is not an easy thing. I hope deer haven't he hunted. There are as many as 1200 deer In Nara Park, a spacious grassy, woody area with no gates, no fences, full of historical and cultural sites including World Heritages, hills, brooks, groves, and people's houses. No one owns deer: deer are protected and taken care for by the deer protection organization. It's important to think how humans and deer can coexist. Actually there are some problems stemming from deer and people living so closely together, but somehow they have coexisted since 8th century (according to the legend). The deer in Nara Park is designated as a natural treasure due to its unique habitat.
I love the lavender-tinted sunset skies. Wish you be able to stroll around your woods freely sooner.
My cat Akua has a heart marking on the top of his head. My husband says he can't see it. But I think he can.
Congrats on your 47th anniversary. That's quite an accomplishment! The land around your home is beautiful, but watch out for those hunters. It looks like they certainly have plenty of prey.
47 years - that is incredible!!! I love that photo of the tree that is looking up to the beautiful sky from the roots - the angle of it is really neat!
You have so many wonderful views aroubd your house and you made me really hungry looking at your delightful dinners!!!!
thanks for stopping by my place and for your recent comments there Wanda...I've been so behind on my reading...I thoroughly enjoyed this post ❤❤❤ Getting used to a new computer is always challenging, at least for me. And all the pictures...oh yeah...we need to do something too!!
Your meals look SO GOOD~just the kinds of things we enjoy too. I've never heard of vegetarian sausage. Where do you get that? I had those exact same Corelle dishes when my kitchen was pink and green...now my daughter-in-law uses them. I was aways very fond of them!
Those deer were sure determined, weren't they? Hope they didn't do too much damage. They are beautiful animals and I love seeing them often near where my mother lives.
Bless you Wanda, and congratulations on 47 years of marriage! We completed 34 this year. Where has the time gone???
Wow! I love your blog, I almost cried seeing those pictures of the deer... and then that music on your blog started playing, HOW SWEET!!
Check out my photography blog:
www.blogbusterblogging.blogspot.com
Once again, I come to your blog to be nourished by soft music and photos that delight my eyes.
And your meals look soooooo delicious, I'm hungry for lunch already.
God bless you friend.

hello Wanda~ sorry for my absence. i've been sick (anemia). i'm just now getting back on my feet/ feeling like myself.
your photos are great. looks like you had some excitement at the end of your drive. hope the passenger in the helicopter was okay.
get your sticks ready for fighting off the girls... your grandson is handsome.
hope you get all your computer woes worked out. i hate being without mine. i especially hope that your pictures can be transferred.
oh, your October scenes are gorgeous. love that toad & that buck. incredible shots.
hope all is well. have a great night.
First things first Wanda...
Congratualtions to you and hubby on your Wedding anniversary!
We will celebrate our 43rd in March.
Your new computer looks very spiffy, I'm sure you will soon get used to it.
All our leaves have gone, and hubby has raked up so many bags for recycling. There are a few left but we will leave those.
The deer are very determined aren't they. They are probably missing the greenery they would normally feed on.
I hope you are soon able to continue your walks..
hugs
xx
Hi Wanda ~ It's been such a long week with our loss of Muffin and now my father's hernia surgery... It's been like a fog...
So nice to come out and visit here...
Congrats on the new computer! It looks wonderful!
I know you'll enjoy all the newness and speed.
Your home life always exudes such tranquility ... and your meals so warm and comforting...
I wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving... knowing that your 47 years of marriage bring you much in grace and gratitude ♥
blessings always,
Maria
It's a little too belated, but nevertheless I want to say it. Here's wishing you and your husband a very Happy Anniversary and I wish you both many many more years of happiness and togetherness :)
I'm sorry for the prolonged absence from Blogger. I've been caught up with work and the associated stress leaves me with no intention to do anything!
I loved the pictures of your cooking immensely. I so wish to sample one of them :)
I liked the concept of Air Care. As far as I know such a facility is reserved for the VIP's here. Wish it was available for the common man too!
And congratulations on the new computer too. I noticed the many photo frames behind it and the almost sepia tone. I loved it :)
Take good care of yourself and loads of love to you :)
Wow! That is one big computer screen; I need that with my eyes...it's an age thing, haha!
Reading your post is like a visit with a friend, totally enjoyable :)
☼ Sunny
I always gain a few pounds coming in here! Just looking at your food shots! Love the squirrels; we don't have them here. Oh, and hope you had a very happy anniversary!
Lots of "age things" going on here, Wanda! I imagine that you'll be happy when hunting season is over and you can go out in safety!
Your meals look so wonderful. The salmon one would thrill me - and my husband loves fettucini alfredo...
And how the heart-shaped rocks fall into your path so frequently, I'll never know!
Belated Happy Anniversary, Wanda. What a blessing to hear of loving marriages. It is one of the most impressive heritage you will leave your children and grandchildren.
Happy Thanksgiving, too.
Spectacular photos. Happy Anniversary. 47 Years! You've been married almost exactly twice as long as we have! Wow.
I'm glad that you helped the deer. Fences can really mess them up.
Really, no walking in the woods during hunting season? That's sad. We just wear complete orange outfits - but there's so much land here that the hunters are very spread out, and we rarely see one near our house. We didn't see any near our house this year.
Keep enjoying fall/winter!
Youo've captured such beauty, Wanda! Oh, those dogwood berries! And how strange to see a helicopter come in for a landing!♥
Stopping in to wish you 'Happy Thanksgiving', Wanda!
You were on my mind yesterday and in my prayers.
I know the Blessing of being surrounded by your beautiful family, and also the Blessing of your beautiful surroundings are a reassuring comfort in your life.
Enjoy them all.
Love and Prayers,
Eileen
Thinking of you and all your family today my friend. Sending big hugs to all of you and wishing you Happy Thanksgivin. Big hugs to Miss Alivia......:-)Hugs
Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving feast with family! I know you have the friends visiting, I certainly did! Beautiful post Wanda! Please stay out of the woods until after the hunt...I know you do! But I am looking forward to your walks once the hunt is over and you are safe. It looks like you feast no matter if it is Thanksgiving or not! Hugs and many smiles across the miles my friend....
Cool, your new technology. I hope it gives you great pleasure. At least as much pleasure as I find here in these walks through your life.
