Even though it's raining almost every day...
I want to let everyone know things are a little brighter here.
Our oldest son, Rick was diagnosed with a small uveal melanoma of the ciliary body of his left eye. He will undergo plaque radiotherapy, with a hospital stay of 4 days and all should be well.
Thank you to everyone for all the well wishes and thoughtful e-mails!

Oh, Wanda! I will definitely be praying for the success of this treatment and the healing of this eye. I've never HEARD of this before. Thankful that the prognosis is good.
Hug and smiles all around. With today's treatment and the TLC he will receive, it will be a spring of color and gratitude.
So glad you are less anxious right now my friend. I am sure Rick will do just fine, I have to say I was worried for awhile for all of you. Will e-mail later. Big hugs to Alivia, love you bunches....:-)
I will be praying for Rick Wanda. God will see us through, one way or another. We just need to trust and have faith in him. Give our best to your son Rick.

Wanda,
What a blessing that this is something that can be treated with surgery and a good prognosis! My hubby is losing his eyesight especially in one eye due to glaucoma and it has been a bit scary so I understand your concern! I will pray for your son.
Blessings,
Brenda
Wonderful news Wanda! I know how relieved you must be to know what it is and that it can be treated.

I'm so glad. Still not good, but, oh, so much better.
Wanda,
while still very scary, I am sure you are also very relieved~ the waiting & not knowing had to be the worst! Wishing Rick all the best & speedy healing, too.
Hugs & Good thoughts :)
That's great news, Wanda...all the best to Rick with his treatment and recovery. xa
Great News!
Sending prayers for successful treatment and full recovery, Wanda!
I'm really sorry to hear about your son's problems, it must have been so distressing. At least it sounds as though the condition can be treated and cured so hopefully all will be well again very soon.
I do hope all is well in the long term and you can relax a bit and enjoy your spring. Thinking of you.
Wonderful news! I'll keep Rick in my prayers.
Thank you for posting about this as I was worried as were all your friends and it helps to have 'positive thoughts for healing' when you know more. May all be well and may you be strong for your family as you have a lot going on ♥
It's good to know that all will be well after your son has had his treatment, Wanda. Thank you for sharing this with us. I have not heard of a melanoma in the eye before. I will read up on it. Skin cancers are very much a concern in the Southern Hemisphere where our summers are long and hot and I never venture outdoors without eye protection.
Dear Wanda,
Thank you for letting us know this. Each photo in the collage is beautiful with the arrival of spring. I look forward to the post of more spring when Rick gets better after the treatment. He'll surely recover and I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
With best wishes,
Yoko
I have thought about you and your son since you sent me that email, and I'm so glad to hear it will be treated and behind him. Sending you hugs and well wishes for the surgery.
My prayers to your son and family; it sounds like he'll be fine but I know this must be a scare for you all. Hugs!

Will be earnestly praying.

As usual, your photos are wonderful and your post amazing. I hope better days are ahead!!!
Wanda what a very beautiful place you live in! I miss my fathers home in Virginia, but he had to sell the house and acreage. It was so serene! he got so sick, but I wished my Daddy kept some for us. Theres nothing like the calm and quiet! Your Blog is a quiet in the storm! I will pray for your Son to who "never slumbers nor does He sleep"! xx
