My flower garden hasn't looked this good for several years...
I blame our moody weather...it's either too wet or too dry.
Greens and browns set the scenes here this time of year.
Some trees are heavily draped with wild grapes vines...
and after the deer eat the lower leaves of a walnut tree...
a few green walnuts always hang low and exposed.
This time of year the sunrays find the hammock!
...and the brown Carolina Wren finds the sun.
Brown and Green again....
I found this 'Giant' Praying Mantis in the field....
and a little greenish tree frog has been living in a birdhouse on the porch
....for a week now!
More green and brown (plus a little white) fungi and seed heads.
The little deer family still visit often....
they even use the path through the tall browning grass of the field.
Enlarge the photo and you can see their footprints on the dewy path.
I followed them....but they quickly disappeared.
The Bluebirds are always surveying the field and are turning browner too.
I always pass the staring eyes of Mr. Oak Tree on my way to the field.
I walk behind him if I'm going to the swing under the Walnut tree.
It's green views from that swing this time of year...
No colorful flowers in the garden in the far distant left...
or Lily-of-the-Valley under the lower right tree.
One cloudy day a large brown buck meandered through
the Blackberry Lily....while eating a few seeds.
Close behind was a slightly smaller friend!
The males never stay long.
The garden needs some cutting and cleaning.
Herhusband has been cutting and cleaning up trees out back.
I managed to capture one tree in it's fall....He claims to have purposely
made it land on the stump!
Herhusband cleaned the outside of my computer room windows.
You can see the blue of the ladder he needed to use.
They're too high up for me to do...my part is the windows inside
Laundry I do on my own...it hangs outside on the days that are dry.
There 'is' a little blue amongst the green and brown.
Alivia walked down one day with yellow in her hair...
another day she wore pink hearts while riding her purple bike.
Her blue eyes and rosy cheeks brighten my day often!
At least I have a few colorful meals to post...
but actually I do see a lot of brown and green mixed in with the...
salads, baked chicken, stuffed zucchini, potato salad, ravioli,
mushroom soup, veg. soup, parmesan couscous & fish.
Desserts were blueberry crisp, banana walnut cake,
orange-chocolate chip-cranberry bread, peaches,
Greek yogurt with blueberry bread and sugar melon.
It's been raining here for a few days now.
It's been awhile since I saw the sun...
and the last time it wasn't very bright.
Maybe tomorrow I'll wake to a Sunshine Day!
Bye For Now

I love all these pictures, Gramma. It's almost like I'm there! Alivia looks so different in just two month--I can't believe it. I thought about taking pictures of the meals I've been cooking lately too, but I think I'm going to wait till I'm not buying canned vegetables anymore :)
Your blog is such a restful nice place to visit. Your photographs are lovely. Thank you for letting me into your world a bit.
Your nature shots are just beautiful Wanda!! As is Miss Alivia!!!
May I come to your house for dinner?...it all looks just delish!!!
'Loved every photo, as usual! Your flower garden is beautiful and I can't get over your park-like surroundings. Really so peaceful looking.
I loved the wren and the buck was a beauty! And speaking of beauties ~ Alivia! She really does get prettier and prettier, and she's getting so mature looking now. She still has a bit of that 'little girl' look and I hope she keeps it for awhile.
And your food! It all looks so wonderful but with my sweet tooth I'm partial to your desserts.
Beautiful post, Wanda. And I love greens and browns!
Love to you,
Eileen
PS ~ LOVED the wash basket photo too!
Hi Wanda,
What a lovely walk. I enjoy your posts so much. I have had holiday weekend visitors. I have worked in the store since then and Monday I will fly out to Alaska for 2 weeks. So, I have not had time for any art. I will write to you when I get back and have some time.
Blessings to you friend, Donna
So serene and green! Impressive "racks" on those male deer...a huge praying mantis indeed.
I liked looking out your almost clean windows, seeing your delicious desserts and darling granddaughter
Our single walnut tree had very few walnuts on it this year. How about yours?
What a beautiful post! Those images through the mist are outstanding. Your family is beautiful and your meals so tempting!
We are out of town again so I'll be checking in on Sundays for a few weeks. That is the only day I will have enough band width to download web sites.
Big hugs,
Lois
I want to come and sit in your park and dine at your table!
Beautiful photos Wanda! You have such a peaceful yard; I'd love to sit in your swing with a good book!
Very lovely post!
Your world is so beautiful, it takes my breath away each time I visit! Every single photograph is a work of art and provides a chance to escape into the frame of your magical garden. I leave here filled with such peaceful and serene emotions, Wanda. Thank you, always, for these absolutely exquisite posts that you imbue with so much soul. Each is a gift to us all! Big hug xoxo
Delightful as always! I especially like the last collage and photo. The lighting in both are wonderful.
I think Alivia is growing up fast. Lovely photos of your garden and surrounds.Loved the frog!
What a wonderful walk together with you, Wanda. The beautiful trees, the sunlight on the hammock, your photos are fantastic. I enjoy every one. That mantis is really scary! It's funny that the little frog has occupied the box! The buck is so pretty. It's difficult to mention it all without writing a long letter! You live in a very special place. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.
And how I love your cooking! How do you find time to do all that food. It would take me lots and lots of time, and I would never finish! You must be a real cook!
Delicious pictures, uhm!
Have a nice week-end!
Thank you for visiting my blogs !

Good Morning Wanda,
What a coincidence ....I was just thinking about you last night and wondering if I had missed a post. It seems like such a long time since your last. I thought maybe something was wrong. So happy to see my worry was unfounded.
Love your quiet and peaceful posts as always. Your beautiful grand daughter is certainly growing into a lovely young lady.
One last thing....your meals always make me hungry!!!
Be well and enjoy your weekend my friend.

Green is one of my favorite colors. Can't get enough. That hammock shot is soooo welcoming and soothing.
Your meals always look so inviting and healthy. You could run a B & B there with the views and marvelous food.
Hope that handsome buck makes it through hunting season.
What fantastic pictures and such a gentle story to go along with them. I especially love the hammock and sunlight picture, but then again, only if I had to choose, which I don't. Thank you for the wonderful walk through your world. :-)
Hi, Wanda! Your flowering garden of the first image is almost heavenly. I think I know how you miss that garden and how you feel in the continuous wet weather, but though not so colorful, still your woods are lovely with shades of green which goes well brown and with vibrant wildlife. I like it when sunlight streams through misty air to the hammock. The buck looks manly with gorgeous antlers, and Alivia looks already a nice lady with high-heel sandals.
In my part of the world, I’ve noticed flowers were not so profuse as past years. Weather is changeable and “It never rains but pours.” is so true with massive rainfalls. We’ve had a few record terrible natural disasters. Nonetheless, life goes on with pains and pleasures.
Wishing you more sunshine,
Yoko
HI WANDA- oh my, today was especially lovely walking about your beautiful and life-giving nature-land. And the homemade foods and desserts as always looked so yummy. It felt so good to "be" with you.
Love Gail
peace......
Wanda, we had 7 English walnut trees and 3 black walnut trees on our place when I was growing up. Part of fall for me is smelling the sharp acid smell the hulls give off...also the stains on my hands from picking them up and drying them. My mom used to bag them and sell them at the church Christmas bazaar....thanks for the memories all the way from your house to mine!
I have decided. It all looks so beautiful there. And the food looks so invitingly good. I have decided that you should open "Wanda's Bed and Breakfast"! What do you think? Of coarse you could make it exclusive to bloggers only. How nice that would be.
Come for a visit to sit and blog in the woods and come back to enjoy delicious food. Mull that over o.k. Wanda?
Love Di ♥
....lovely post, Wanda! You are such an amazing cook--always such variety! Also.....that little tree frog living in the bird house is adorable!!
There always is sunshine when coming on your walks. It doesn't matter what time of year. I love the oak tree with the face. That made me smile. Wow! what a big Praying Mantis. I thought bugs in Florida were huge.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Smiles.
Your photos are just AWESOME!!! that a buck is amazing! What a beautiful post Wanda and Alivia is getting so big. It's amazing. I love seeing photos of her.:) She is such a cutie pie!
xoxo, Lisa
Hello Wanda, Your property looks inviting both in rain and in sunshine. Perhaps even the little frog needed a dry spot to live! Alivia looks lovely in her pretty dress and summer sandals. I'm afraid I lingered a bit too long over your desserts! Enjoy the rest of your summer, my friend.
Hi Wanda! It's always lovely to visit and I will echo the compliments of Diana and Barb ~ I'm smiling at the Bed and Breakfast idea :o)
Your photography is so beautiful, Wanda. I lingered long over the hammock photo and made it my desktop background ~ To me, it's God's invitation to rest.
The faces of the creatures are so captivating. I lingered over the buck and the praying mantis.
I hope you have a lovely weekend and enjoy your beautiful family.
~God bless you, always,
Maria
Oh the comfort of visiting your blog, it is almost like coming home. Everything is so green and lush, just beautiful.
We had a horrible summer but this past week has been absolutely gorgeous and I have loved every moment of it.
Miss Alivia is growing so tall and so very fast, can't believe how big she is getting, am looking forward to "flat Alivia" Miss you dear friend, will be back to regular blogging soon, big hugs to Alivia.....:-)
In that variety of pictures everyone can find something to like...but I couldn't find a single one I didn't like. Great pictures! The buck in velvet was my favorite. NICE!!!
I haven't been lurking around the Blogs much lately so I was happy to see your new post when I checked in today! The frog in the birdhouse is priceless! The photo of the sun hitting the hammock is really fabulous Wanda. :o) And as usual I enjoy seeing all your photos so much, thank you for taking the time to brighten someone's day.
No matter where in the sky the sun shines, your home is always beautiful and your days are special---- but it's the mornings that are most magical. Love you, Mom. ---Annette
OH my that blueberry bread looks wonderful, think I'll make a fruit bread myself.
Great photos, Wanda. I especially loved the one with the light breaking through to the hammock and, of course, the one of the praying mantis.
Alivia has grown so much since the last time I saw her photo. What lovely photos, Wanda.
I hope that your home is adorned with your photography. You are an expert at capturing the beauty all around us. Thank you for sharing your beauty with me.
Love,
Jackie
Thank you for making my day! These are the most beautiful photos I've seen in a long time. Love the sun rays on the hammock.
You are amazing.
It looks like you live in a magical forest. Spectacular sunray!
Your photos are exquisite. So, so beautiful. My favourite one is the sun shining on the hammock but they are all lovely.
Amazing, just beautiful, even the mist seems to hang most beautifully for you and your lens. Also you are so vigilant which I envy although if there were a Praying Mantis within inches of me I think I would be able to sprint . . .
A beautiful poem by Annette on her blog...
Hugs to you both.
Love,
Jackie
TODAY I FOUND SOME PEACE. I FOUND YOUR BLOG.
GRANNY FRO FLORIDA
I am in such awe over all of your beautiful photos! What a lovely property you have. I could sit right down in that swing and spend an afternoon!
I love the sun ray on the hammock pix. It makes it look like God wants to have a rest on the hammock. Nice shot.
Your world is a beautiful and peaceful one. I've never heard of a tree frog before, he looks so funny peeping out of that bird house, like he got there completely by accident and wonders what he's doing there!
This is a perfect introduction to fall. The photos are breathtaking - especially the sun ray on the hammock.
The sun rays in your photographs are magical. You have such a serene garden. I do not know in which part of Ohio your garden is, but the first week of September we were in Ohio – it was very warm. Driving around Mansfield I could not believe how many pretty hills there were there. Your food always looks tempting. A great post.
you have such lovely pictures of nature that I must be here a frequent guest! I would love to try the hammock and the food:)
Hello Wanda
I enjoyed looking at all your lovely photos and collages. Your area is so beautiful and peaceful looking
I adore your greens and browns, with touches of all the nature around you. Very nice blog to visit, but most of all I love your heart rocks on the right side of your blog. I try to find them too.
You have such a lovely blog and your photos and the collage photos are wonderful! Thank you for sharing. I came over form Jenny's Alphabe Thursday!
just answered to your message in my blog, hope the rain stopped...in Athens autumn begins...
'Had a weird day today, so I decided to come spend a little time in your world. Your photography along with your music brings me peace. I so agree with Granny Florida's comment.
Have a good weekend.
Love,
Eileen
I have never seen green and brown look so good. What a beautiful, beautiful view you have.
I read this while humming "What a Wonderful World". You paint your world with such lovely pictures and words!
Thank you for always being a haven in this crazy world!
Bless you!
Well, judging by your blog I believe you've already succeed in living that way...how else could you manage to share these photos filled with meaningful silence of nature? I could easily follow the carefully placed notes of blue and brown of your laundry and somehow find it easier to keep on walkng.
Wanda, I wanted to copy some of your pictures, and I just copied the wash basket, but then I thought I should ask first and I deleted it. Sorry. But if you wouldn't mind, I'd like to copy a few, just for my own personal use in my home.
Also, thanks so much for your good wishes. Things are going well.
Love to you,
Eileen
Alivia has grown so much over the Summer, she is quite the young lady!
You live in a colouful world, populated with wonderful things. I am wondering how the frog got into the birdhouse, he must be very athletic!
xx
Your photos are peaceful and very beautiful! I like the foggy ones.
You must be a good cook too! Thanks for the tour, Wanda!
Wanda, it is all absolutely beautiful! I love your collages!
I love that photo of the sun's rays finding the hammock! Alivia is sure growing up, FAST!
