I just want to thank everyone for brightening
my day this past year of blogging
...time goes by fast....visiting with good friends.
The day I took this photo.....
we woke to our first good snowfall.
Of course the flakes weren't really this large...
some of the grandchildren helped with
making these several years ago...
but the snow was covering everything.
~

I had gone out early that morning for a walk.
It was just after dawn,
no noticeable sunrise though...but
earlier in the week there were noticeable turkeys
visiting in the field...just beyond the fence.

The snow was clinging to the trunks of the Oak trees...
The morning was very quiet....

I saw no movement in the field...
it seemed deserted...
and cold.....
as I stood under the draping leaves.
Looking back across the field...
I could barely see the house.....
it blended right in.....
it blended right in.....
there was a fine misty snow falling!
As I walked back...
smoke from the chimney.....
told me Herhusband was putting wood on the fire!
told me Herhusband was putting wood on the fire!
It was time to go in and leave the cold.
But first....
Remember the visiting turkeys I mentioned....
Remember the visiting turkeys I mentioned....
the ones in the field
just beyond the fence....
Well.....there were about
35 of them visiting that day.

Lovely photos Wanda, I'm beginning to think that it must be snowing all over the world! Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Why would anyone want to fly away from this winter wonderland, Wanda...? I'm here for the duration. :))
I love the bows bending under the weight of the snow....the turkeys (we love ours...feed them every day...and they know we wouldn't hurt them...aren't they beautiful to watch!)
The dove is a peaceful and beautiful bird.
Your home is beautiful...all decked out in white.
May your Christmas be a blessed one...filled with the joys that our Lord intended us all to have.
Peace, love...and a closer walk with Him is my wish for myself...that in itself would be a perfect gift.
Merry Christmas my friend.
Love,
Jackie
Wanda, Merry Christmas to you and yours. What a lovely, peaceful place you live in! xa
Great post!! You warm my heart and start all my days wonderfully. Take care my friend and keep blogging, I stop by every morning!!
Wanda - what lovely photographs - your surroundings are quintessential christmas in every way - the quiet, serene, home-for-the-holidays kind of perfect surroundings.
May your Christmas be full of joy and love with your family all around you. I look forward to more sharing with you in the new year - it has been a delight to get to know you a little.
What beautiful surroundings you have. Your home with the woods and the snow looks like it should be a Currier and Ives photograph.
I'm not flying away anywhere, but sort of wish I could visit your lovely home and woods.
Have a blessed Christmas.
What a lovely home you have and your posts are always such a delight.
I'm sorry I have been behind with my comments.
Merry Christmas to you and yours and thank you for all your kind comments.
Sunny :)
The photos are beautiful Wanda. I love the shot of your home with the lights and snow. Magical! Have a Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year.

Have a Very Merry Christmas.

Hi Wanda,
Your post today was amazing, and I agree the first snowfall is beautiful, and it seems to make everything look new and pure and fresh...and cold! However somehow you made it all look warm and inviting with your beautiful pictures of your warm and inviting home, and your beautiful Christmas Decorations and the obvious love and care that you put into everything you do and say. I am so blessed to find a friend in this world such as you, and blogging has made that possible. If I fly away, I will always return to the beauty and friendship I have found here. Gods Blessings for a Wonderful Christmas and a Prospersous and Blessed New Year!!! (((LOVE and HUGS)))) T

HI WANDA_
I SO love your nature-land and it is glorious in the snow. I wish you and your family a very "merry Christmas".
Love Gail
peace.....
Okay, now that is a Winter Wonderland!
I love visiting here in this peaceful place, no matter what the season the photos are gorgeous and the company is beautiful!
I will be flying away for a few days though, busy prepping, and some things going on here (what else is new?), and a very dear friend is now sitting at the hospital bedside of her Mom, trying to come to grips with saying a final goodbye, and I just feel the need to fly to her side. She called and we both cried, and I could just hear the desperation in her voice. She had lost her only (fifteen year old) sister when she herself was only nineteen, and she lost her Dad just two years ago, and now her Mom is about to join them.
Please keep my friend Barbara in your prayers. Thank you.
Wanda, I wish you many Blessings in the New Year, and enjoy a wonderful Christmas with your beautiful family in your Wonderland surroundings.
Love to you, Wanda ~
Eileen
Your home is a gingerbread cottage!
I love the photo looking through the wreath, and the lonesome dove...
Merry Christmas, my friend!

Oh, Wanda,
Your home looks like a fairytale cottage...I'm simply enchanted!!!! And it is simply magical in the snow with the lights sparkling in your windows!!! And as usual, your poetic narrative is simply delightful!! Merry Christmas, dear friend!! ~Janine XO
This was a gorgeous post. It really picked up my lagging Christmas spirit. Your photos remind me of some of my own memories of Christmas. Walking in the quiet of snow is so peaceful and relaxing. I could almost feel myself out there walking with you. Beautiful. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas.
Merry Christmas Wanda.
Such lovely photos, as usual I feel I have been walking with you.
Love the look of your snow, but also love my beach scenes, although cool and grey today.
Dear Wanda, it all looks picture postcard perfect! Lovely photographs as always and the serene, gentle atmosphere that pervades your blog is doubly so in this Christmas post.
May the joy and happiness of Christmas bring blessings on you and your family. Have a healthy and happy 2010, and here's to many more wonderful pictures and blogs. I appreciate your friendship and insightful comments.
Wasn't going to turn on my computer tonight...so much happening and so much to do but I am so glad I came here if only to relax in the beauty of your photo's and home.
True friends do not just leave Wanda, true friends care always, Have a wonderful Christmas with your family.....so glad it's going to be a white one. You have been one of my biggest joys since I began blogging, always a friend to you.... Big hugs to Alivia......:-) Hugs
Hello Wanda, Don't you love that winter silence when the snow is falling? I love the photo through the wreath and the view of your cozy home with light in the windows. Those snowflakes on your window are very special! Have a wonderful Christmas, Wanda. We're in Denver and will spend Christmas visiting various Grandchildren. Don't worry - I'm one who won't fly away!
Oh Wanda it looks so beautiful, peaceful and white at your place!
I hope your Christmas is the same.
Love Di
A beautiful winter wonderland, really beautiful. The dove is especially lovely. Now then my dear, when is the book 'Wanda's Walks' going to be published? For that would be a best seller I think. Warmest best wishes, liZZie XX
When I saw everything covered in white, it reminded me of the pictures of the same place in Fall. What a contrast but yet so beautifully serene. Visiting a place like yours is definitely on my list of things to do before I die! You are beautiful with your pictures and have impeccable taste as far as the look of the blog is concerned, the way you decorate your home and the way you write. I am so honored to know someone like you! I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a fantastic New year 2010 :)
Thank you for the sweet comments on my recent blogs. The people I've "met" through blogging have also enriched my life.
Have a wonderful Christmas!
Nature at your home is breath-taking and your photography skills have captured the beauty so well...
Seeing the dove makes me realize that (sadly) the pair that used to rest on the roof in the back of our house is no longer here!
Enjoy your Christmas holidays, as I'm sure you will! May the memories of your gatherings linger long in the hearts of your children and grandchildren.
Merrily, Rebecca

The Dove of Peace has spent some time at your house!
Turkeys are not generally known as graceful or beautiful birds but I am always so glad to see them purposefully and peacefully gleaning their way across fields.
My wish for your Christmas Day is that it be filled with love and even more peace than usual.
We have the same kind of doves on our patio. They have almost become pet doves, they're almost always here!
35 turkeys? I hope they made it safe past Christmas?
What a lovely view you have i the snow. If I lived where you are I'd be outside all the time with my camera!
Our snow is gone, we never REALLY made White Chritmas, at least not where I am. It started to rain on Christmas eve and by the next morning nothing was left!
Merry Christmas Wanda!
Loved the winter photos....we are all white here too!!
