The end of January brings thoughts of Spring!
We have "SIX" birthdays within the next 30 days.....
which sees us through the month of February and
brings us March.....the month of Spring!
Although...
the view out my door, in March
has been known to sometimes...
be this...

...I'm hoping this year....
it will be more like this!
So the very first birthday...
of those six birthdays, within the next 30 days...
~
will be Tuesday, Jan. 26th...
our grandson Nick's 16th Birthday!
Nicholas Ford Ryan
This is Nick up front...
with his older brother Nathan(aka Nate)
taken by sister Amanda...
just after they moved in...next door!
There was a time...
when I saw him and his cousins...
almost every single day.....together!
Here are some of them on an uprooted tree!
Nick is in the yellow hat!

Hanging out together...under the Walnut tree!
Playing corn hole in the shade with cousins.
Being together...
has provided many opportunities
to learn to be...
a good sport!
Which defines Nick well...
at this point in time...
A Soccer Player...No. 7!

I spent part of Sunday afternoon watching
him play.... indoors of course!
Early photos of Nick...

He runs extremely fast....

How quickly the years pass! What a fine looking young man.
We have a bunch of February birthdays, too! In fact, I'm using our February extended family birthday bash as motivation to eat sensibly the next seven days! I'll celebrate success by feasting on a piece of pecan pie after a meal together at a nearby diner.
You've produced a wonderful and loving testimony to your birthday boy. Does he know? Extra best birthday wishes are now mustering in the internet.
Nick is a handsome guy!! Very handsome indeed. I like the way you took us from childhood to his 16th, Wanda. Your photos are beautiful. I love being here. Even if you didn't write a word, I would stay here and look at your photos for the longest time....
A quiet and peaceful and loving place to be...at "Moments of Mine."
Smiles to you from Jackie
Makes you wonder where the years go. They pass so quickly. He is a handsome young man. This is a nice photo journey of his growing up years.
Lovely story and photos of Nick growing up. I love your first photo with the blossom in focus and the background blurred.
Hello Wanda, Six birthdays in 30 days - a great excuse for celebration! As Nick got older in each photo sequence, I thought about your part in his life - watching, teaching, loving from little boy to young man. Sixteen is a milestone birthday - I wish him all the very best!
Happy Birthday Nick!! My second grandson, Todd, was 16 on the 18th.
Where have the years gone? Eldest grandson, Ben, went for his driving licence yesterday. I must put a call through; don't know if he got it.
Lovely photos.
Awwww Nick! Happy Birthday! You are adorable...in ummm.... a teenagery way! Beautiful trip down memory lane Grandma!
what a handsome young man..he must make you proud ;-)
Happy Birthday Nick!!!
Hello Wanda
I have been catching up with your weather, the state of the driveway, the new coffee machine, is that whipped cream on your coffee???
the cookies you and Alivia baked and your fine grandson Nick....
I hope the first of your celebrations is a lovely day.
Happy days friend
Kids who have lots and lots of cousins to play with grow up very healthily, I think. It's a crowd of different personalities that will all be there the next day, for more fun, after arguments, after illness, through all kinds of experiences.
This photo journal is a tribute not only to Nick but to your whole family web. It's just thick and rich with good feeling.
You did such a beautiful job with the photos Wanda. Seeing the progressing years with Nick and all of the cousins. I still say Alivia looks like a little doll from the forties! Happy 16th Birthday to Nick!
At least he hasn't started asking you to drive everyday, yet!
Love Di
*Rebecca...they are all growing too quickly.
*Lizzie...yes, he knows to expect it.
*Jackie...thank you for always being there.
*Rae...as they get older the years seem to speed up too.
*Elaine...it's an apple blossom in the field.
*Barb...thank you...it's hard to believe he's 16.
*Alaine...Nick just got his learner's permit and my oldest will be 22 on the 30th.
*Jenny...you're Funny!!!
*Janet...He does!
*Delwyn...nice to see you posting again...yes, it's whipped cream.
*June...My kids grew up with their cousins as well.
Hi Di...no, but he can practice in the field like his brother.
Happy Birthday, Nick!
Beautiful post, Wanda! I loved seeing the photos of all the family fun! It reminds me of my kids and their cousins, and also of myself growing up surrounded by family.
It's really such a Blessing. You must be so happy to be surrounded by so much loving activity.
It's nice seeing them grow in all the photos, but a little melancholy too.
Well, I guess I'm feeling like that because I am in the midst of working on a post for my daughter Katie (32 tomorrow), and I was posting pictures of Jayden for her, and seeing how he's grown, and thinking of her in those same young years, and then thinking of all she's been through, things she's still going through. You have these dreams for your children, and then you realize that you just have to let them go.
Well, anyway, I'm Blessed so I don't have all that much to be melancholy about I guess.
January is our big month for Birthdays, with Jayden's ending the month on the 31st. Then we're quiet until March when there are lots and lots again.
Your family is beautiful, Wanda, and I can see that you enjoy them!
All best wishes to your handsome grandson!
Love to you,
Eileen
