Season & Life Changes

These are the earliest Spring blooming wild flowers found in the woods and around the yard.
White Trout Lily- Harbinger of Spring- Wild Violets-
Spring Beauties- Wood Poppy- Cut-leaved Toothwort

So many changes were seen with the coming of Spring....
Blooming peach trees, daffodils, magnolia, forsythia and crocus!

The biggest change however since my last post is....
The marriage of a third grandchild!

Katie and Mitchell's lovely wedding was March 16th!

The beautiful cake with delicate blue tinted flowers was baked by her mother's friend, Lisa Pottorf.

The color theme was black and white with creamy white roses.

Mitch and Katie stayed with us for four days before heading to their new home in New Mexico.  On their slow drive there, they zip-lined over a river somewhere in Missouri and....

Katie e-mailed me photos of a cavern they explored!

Once they are settled...
I will be e-mailing Katie and Mitch recipes of meals like these...

The morning after their wedding a 'ring' of clouds appeared in the sky.
A few other pre-spring days had different looks.

This morning was bright and warm....spring is greening the yard...
bringing changes....

Spring is also bringing...
..... a soon to be visit from Amanda, who lives in Washington State with her husband Bronson!

Guess who is a 'very happy' girl.... Amanda's little sister ALIVIA!

Congratulations to Mitch and Katie. Katie made a beautiful bride and the wedding looks like it was lovely. I love the cake! Wonderful to see such happy family photos. Alivia is going to be especially happy to see her big sis.

Your spring photos are gorgeous and make me envious. We have not had any days above freezing yet, but we have passed the mark where we have more daylight than dark and we've been having lots of sunshine, although the next few days may see a couple more inches of snow. Spring will come in it's own sweet time, I guess.....

Such lovely photos, the bride looks beautiful and it will be lovely for Alivia to have Amanda home for a little while.
Here we are going into autumn, today was cold and damp but hot weather is predicted for the end of next week.

Dear Wanda!
Congratulations with your beautiful granddaughter's wedding. What a wedding cake ! Wow.

Your pictures of spring flowers are so beautiful. I really long for spring now. All those colours after winter are so vibrant. Life is back in a way.

This cavern must have been fantastic for them to see. Why is it that young people always have to hang in a rope? ´)

There's also a Wanda-heart in the clouds if I look closely....
Your food! Your food! Uhmm! I wish you were my neighbour. No! I would be too fat. I love delicious food....
Thank you Wanda. You always give us a beautiful and generous post. I've got the flowers inside my head now.

How wonderful your loved granddaughter’s wedding was, Wanda! Katie is such a beautiful bride and the photo of her holding arms with her farther reminded me warmly of my husband and my daughter doing so on the virgin road at the chapel. It’s so nice the family extending little by little. Home recipe and a hint of love sprinkled in the cooking are the basics of home cooking: Katie will learn it from you.

The vibrant garden and woods are magically different from the dormant winter. I especially like tree blossoms at this time of year, they make hazy pastel clouds in the area, pink, yellow, and white. The soft sunlight really made me feel mellow. Thanks for sharing such a beautiful spring. Have happy and peaceful days ahead.

Hello Wanda, What happy news you share - Katie's marriage, Amanda's impending visit, and all those spring blooms and blue skies around your property. I think you should make a recipe book for Katie with photos of the finished products! I love to hear what's happening at the house at the end of the twisting lane. My Grands will spend this week with us on Spring Break - a busy time.

Hi Wanda, what a lovely bride your Katie was and a handsome groom too! I loved seeing all of your wonderful wedding photos. And Amanda coming for a visit must be the icing on the cake! What a beautiful spring you are having, we had several days of 80 degree temps which usually don't happen here until July or August! Little green buds are appearing...but nothing as gorgeous as your part of the country. Your photos always make me smile! Take care and have a wonderful visit with your dear one.

And your grandchildren are just beautiful! Your granddaughters have the sweetest faces {like their grandmother}.
The sky photos are grand, especially the one in the center with the bird flying right into the center ring!

I agree with the others here that a cookbook would be perfect!
A photo recipe book would be fun to make!
Wishing you many more springtime joys~

That food collage was very tempting, Wanda! (I've been diligent in attending to healthy foods and reasonable portions lately. Hoping to be back to a good weight be summertime!)

Looking forward to your next post which I imagine might be coming soon...
