More Snow Please

The beginning of January gave us freezing rain

and left the trees glistening in the sun.

Then it snowed just a little-

only to be washed away by rain. Now it's snowing again today,

but still it's not white enough for me.

If it's going to snow, I want it like this, with birds in the bushes

and the branches of the trees-

waiting patiently their turn at the bird feeders.

More snow please.
