Food For Thought

Remember the Blackberry Lily of early
summer...

which eventually opened to this...
~

Well...here is the seed head and the reason
for the Blackberry name!
~

This is the field with it's green fresh grass...
~

which now...it has a haze of brown!

This Eastern Phoebe likes sitting on the
globe...

Butterflies and Moths take their turn too!

A vine creeps up this tree fresh and green...

Now...has lost some leaves and thinning down!

Recall how Alivia removed the loose knot in
a fence board.

...this is the view through it...
~
from the other side...

Well, this also appeared one day...
~
peeking through...
~
when Andrew was here!

~

~
Remember the Village Food Diary...
Well now...here's a peek at what I ate today...

I had coffee and a Banana Pecan Muffin
for breakfast at 6:00.

I few almonds and dark chocolate around 9:00.

For lunch at noon, we had vegetarian chili...
with peanut butter sandwiches...and

a crushed granola bar and coconut over
slices of nectarine .

Then...
a biscuit with some mixed berry spread and
a cup of green tea was a snack around 3:00.

About 6:00 I had cranberry flavored water..

with Cheddar cheese on
Fire Roasted Tomato Triscuits
and these purplish globe grapes.

Well that's it...certainly not as interesting as the
purplish Mist Flowers growing in the field...

or these deer seen running through the field!

Great post!
And I like how you combined it into your regular post! (I did too, but not nice and smoothly like you did!).
Love ALL the photos! Even the food ones! And now I feel like eating again! But I won't I'm tired and I need to get up and out early again tomorrow morning so I'll go to bed after this.

Loved, loved, loved, the knot hole pictures (Alivia, Andrew's eye, and the pretty scene too)!
Great post, Wanda!
Love, Eileen
PS ~ I'm thinking of copying your weekly food posts and try to eat like that!
I think you should continue yours even when the week is over! It really is interesting!

That 'comment deleted' was my fault..." Eye kan't spel"....

I know you must grow tired of hearing me say how wonderful your photos and your blog are....but I just don't know how else to say it, Wanda. Everything is so peaceful...the words and the photographs flow....like a brook through a meadow...just wonderful, Wanda.

Hello Wanda, I love the way the little deer was wagging its tail at us. The vine on the tree is an awesome shot. I really love the knothole photos, too (the hole looks a bit like a heart!). Since I just had some ice cream (breaking my rule about no eating after 8), your food didn't temp me tonight. I'll just say sweet dreams...

Hi Wanda, I loved Andrew's eye through the knot hole....and then the scene you captured through it was beautiful.

Wanda - feel like I've spent part of the day with you. The way you present your food is lovely. I would love to eat my main meal at noon, but it does not fit with my husband's schedule. One day when he retires, I hope.

The knot hole pictures are great. Thanks for all you share.

I, too, was wowed by the knot-hole "frame".

And the nectarine presentation was memorable - I like the crumbled granola bar idea and might never have thought of it without seeing it!

I was educated by many of your pictures and commentary - again!

I just love your creativity with shots. The one looking up the tree I found awesome and dizzing but the knot hole was brilliant.

Here I am again, Poppin in when I should be doing a bazillion things, but one must get refreshed and yours is certainly a refreshing spot to be!!

LOVED that knot hole thing you did...You are not only a great photographer but ever so creative...PLEASE keep it up!

The before and after pictures are wonderful, like watching the seasons change in the most wonderful way...you do so much to make your posts so wonderful.

Your food is always scrumptious...think you should open up a health spa and people could lose weight and still have these eye appealing and healthy meals!

Do you get all your fruit and veggies from a local market?

blessings and hugs,

marcy

I just read your comment on Teresa's blog (about everyone getting tired of photographing their meals). Well, I'm getting tired of photographing the garbage that I put into my body daily (plus, it's embarrassing!), but I love coming and looking at and reading what you eat each day! I'm starting a petition among the villagers for Wanda to continue posting her meals each day!!
I'm really going to miss this side of you when the week is up!
When is it up anyway, Tuesday? I forget when we started.
And now we have to go through the holiday weekend, and now you will all get to see how REALLY bad I am! Oh well.
Love you!
Love your photos!
Love your diet!
Love your posts!
Love your blog!
Eileen

Okay. I just have to ask. What kind of camera do you use. Are you a professional photographer?

I am sounding like a broken record. Beautiful, gorgeous, incredible, wonderful . . . beautiful, gorgeous, incredible, wonderful . . .

Some lovely pictures, I especially like the one through the knot hole. The flower of the Blackberry Lily is really beautiful and the berries are attractive too - it seems to be looking autumnal early everywhere this year.

Not only do I LOVE to go walking with you, but sitting at your table is a feast too! You're so much like me, you do not want just any FOOD on your plate, you want it to look pretty and colorful too eh? A beautiful glass, a pretty plate, I love that. We eat with our eyes as much as with our tastebuds, at least, you and I do that!!
Dark chocolate, another one of my favorites, yum.
You inspire me Wanda, tim and time again!!
Have a great weekend!

Hello Wanda

Life is changing with the seasons, autumn drifting closer now...

I have to admit to consuming a lot more food per day than you...
I have a very wholesome breakfast, a substantial lunch and a good dinner ...with desert...

I like the chilli dish. I haven't made that for yonks. I have so many tomatoes in the fridge and it's market morning again tomorrow so I think tonight will be tomato based - perhaps I can make chilli beans with lots of tomatoes...I will go and check the pantry for beans...

Yesterday I remembered that my Dad loved to eat cheese with jam on bread...of course we all used to say Yuuuuuuuuuuuck... but I imagine if the jam is not as sweet I could change my mind...

Happy days Wanda

Jientje said...

They're in the oven NOW!! Rising!! Ooooh, I'm sooo excited!! Baking something for breakfast is so much fun!!Can't wait to taste one!!

And where's your food post???
How am I going to learn if you won't teach?! Ugh!
Well, I'm here to copy what has been posted, thank you.

I tried to do a before and after shot of dogwood flowers and then the bright red berries but it has been very dry and the berries look awful. Oh well. Great great photos -- love the eye in the knothole. My word is "sonspolo" Bet PA Wild Woman could have had some fun with that one

Late summer - it has its own distinct beauty. The fields, the trees, and soon we say good-bye to birds (think the robins are already gone). Nice to appreciate it all. Including your meals... really scrumptiouos.
