It's apple blossom time here in the field!
.
Like the Dogwood this year...
the trees are heavy with blooms!
There must be a thousands...
of these little pink buds...
.
...that slowly open.....up to blooms.
.
.
.
Another tree had paler buds.....
.
.

...that now appear so very white!

The raspberry vines.....
on the fence in the field...
though rapidly growing...
they have yet to bloom.

The Lilac blooms...
were at their best!
These now...
can be found on my desk.
Leaving the field...
and crossing the drive...
we come to the Iris...
a place where they thrive.
and going west...
takes you to...
the south side of the house...
...where a bed of purple Violets...
compete for your eye...
...with the Bleeding Hearts along the side!
Walking along...
to the back of the house...
Dogwood and Red Bud
compete here too!
must like the view...
they're often seen here...
just like these two...
from high above...
you can hear them coo!
at the base of a tree...
you can find
Jack-in-the-Pulpit...
there's actually three!
I gently opened one...
for inside...to see!
Just what is this?
imprisoned by a leaf...
more like this...
What do you think this is?
I know it's too dark!
I then used a flash...
well hidden beneath!
What do you think this is?
I know it's too dark!
I then used a flash...
which made it too stark!
It's a Paw paw bloom....
It's a Paw paw bloom....
which I hope bares fruit.
It's photo
generally appears...
considerably more cute.
considerably more cute.
this might be?
You just might smile...
when you see.
They're like
'miniature potatoes'...
'miniature potatoes'...
found at the end...
of Spring Beauties!
of Spring Beauties!
I trusted...
and tried them myself...
after scrubbing their sides.
it was easy to do.
Potato taste they had...
then...I bid them adieu!
Potato taste they had...
I did eat those few...
though they weren't bad...
my regular ones will do!
will stay in my yard.
Out back...
I often find this spring beauty...
riding her bike into the woods!
rides his dirt bike there too...
Deer can often be found...
at to the top of the hill.
you can find Buckeye trees...
with their 'fiber optic' flowers
with their 'fiber optic' flowers
...that seem to glow!

As usual I had a lovely walk with you around the woods and yard. I love the style of your home. It reminds me of one we wanted at the base of Pilot Mt. in NC. But someone had put ernest money on it while we were looking.
I really liked it but it was for someone else. :-)
Anyway, Love the post today.
What a lovely, lovely, lovely walk around your property. I just love your images and commentary each time I visit here. Thank you so very much.
Lois
HI WANDA-
Given the rainy, dark day here I especially enjoyed walking about your nature-land with you. I could see and smell everything. Lovely. ANd those lil potato like things that Grizz said were good 'eatin'!! How brave of you. :-)
Happy SPring-time

peace.....
Another soul-satisfying collection of photos! Thank you...
What a lovely variety of flowers! Do you sometimes wonder if there is almost too much beauty to absorb? Your photography is gorgeous. It is hard to capture what our eyes can take in . . .
One mre Spanish test to take and a few more special assignments and I will be back to faithfully reading blogs. I always take to time to peak at yours . . .
Beautiful! Beautiful! Beautiful!
Oh Wanda - thank you for sharing the glorious blossoms and other offerings in your spring garden.
Loved the 3 different shots of the paw paw blooms (I don't know what that is btw).
The music that you have serenading us as we walk with you in your little piece of paradise is so gentle yet with a touch of melancholy that almost always brings me to tears. Don't know why - just pulls at me that way - stirring deep, nostaligic feelings.
Thank you ... again!
Should have previewed my comment--I do know the words: peek, sometimes, and more . . . Oh well . . .
Lovely photos Wanda, - your flowers and shrubs and woods are perfect, - such a quiet and serene atmosphere to contain all that beauty.
I am sitting here, eyes still dilated, trying to read your beautiful words and lovely photos. I love the music as I have said so many times before, but, it's true. I loved all your spring flowers. They are so pretty....and your house...it surprised me. I pictured it as a reddish brown wood house, ranch style, and perfectly groomed all year round. So, I was surprised to see how absolutely wrong I was! I love, love your house. How quaint and homey. It goes much better with the music and your beautiful surroundings. It personifies home, good smells, lots of love and blends so well with all the surrounding nature. It's magic!!....debbie
Oh, this is a breath of Spring for me!
It is rainy and cold here today, and yesterday too, so this was a very welcome sight to my eyes!
I love the Dogwood trees, around the corner from us they line the streets and it is so pretty. Not as pretty as your woods but it will do.
'Loved the shot of the May Apple shoot imprisoned! And loved the paw paw bloom (I've never seen those before), and the Bleeding Hearts are a favorite of mine too!
Pretty post, Wanda!
Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful property with us!
Love to you,
Eileen
Wanda, I have no idea why but I got so very lonesome walking through your yard today. Everything was so fresh, clean and beautiful. I think the dogwood tree is my favorite tree ever, I love the blossoms. Alivia sitting there with her little hands folded as if in prayer is beautiful. Thank you my friend, everything at your place is looking so lovely....big hugs to Alivia........:-)
Hi Wanda,
The flowers are so beautiful. I could just smell those liliacs. They brought back memories of liliac trees in the front yard of the house that I grew up in. My mother always picked them and brought the beautiful aroma into the house.
Your house is so lovely. It looks like a dollhouse.
Hope you are enjoying your day.
Take care.
Smiles.
Wanda..I am always so amazed at all the lovely flowers you have growing all around your home. Thank you for another fabulous post..I always come away refreshed and smiling...;-)
Love the visit with you today Wanda as always...I to have Iris and lots of them, they are one of my favorites...I love spring time and all its glory..your spring time there is much the same as mine..wonderful pics and loved visiting...take care my friend..
Wow! Thank you for that beautiful walk around your home. Everything is so late blooming here. Usually at this time of year, most of my home is covered with clematis, but I'm afraid this year all we have to show is dandelions and daisies! An odd little aconite shows her sleepy head, and the woods are usually a blue haze of bluebells, and even the daffodils were late!
Pink cherry-blossom is just starting to show, but that is late this year too!
Spring sings all over the land. How sweetly it sings near your home.
Hi Wanda
I have enjoyed my time with you as we circuited your home and you pointed out all of the various blooms and signs of spring...
Happy days
I enjoyed walking with you to see your beautiful spring flowers. You have so many that won't grow here, but also some that we share. We are still in the drab time between the snow melting and the leaves of spring popping. We'll take a walk through the woods here when things begin to bloom, but that will be several weeks away yet. In the meantime, your spring flowers brightened my day.
Hi Wanda!
Oh what lovely spring flowers you have been enjoying!
So many beauties... I also enjoyed learning about new plants...
Our apple blossoms are opening now... I've been trying to take a photo a day of their progress... They are just outside of my bedroom window...
Lilacs are not yet matured. Looking forward to their wonderful scent filling the air and the house!
Enjoy all your springtime moments, Wanda!
~Maria
Such beauty. I am in awe of spring. Everything bursts into life. One of the trees in your 7th photo looks like it has a face on it though. Or is it just me seeing it?
After reading this beautiful post I was thinking more concentratingly about some of what's happening around me - some in common with yourself, and also I heard my first cuckoo of the season yesterday, and my little peach tree has started to bloom. ♥
Spring is breathtaking where you are. To be surrounded by all this beauty must be so wonderful. I'm so glad I get to see this through your lens, Wanda!
I enjoyed those blossoms and buds and those paw-paw flowers are so unusual! Unfortunately the music wouldn't play for me. Very lovely, Wanda, thank you.
The Paw-paws interested me more than the crabapple blossoms. I had them but just planted two more Paw-paws. I planted two bare root last year. One took off and one died. The took off one was in too much sun so it was moved and so far it has not leafed out this year but the wood is still green. I have my fingers crossed.
I am anxious for them for the Zebra Swallowtail starts their short lives on those trees. That's why I planted them.
Wanda's beautiful springtime wonderland. Oh how I love our walks together. I get to see unusual plants that I've not seen before! I didn't know that I had wild violets in my yard, I thought they were weeds! I always left them alone as they are so pretty and a nice ground cover! Lovely pictures Wanda. Love Di ♥
You certainly have been kissed by spring. Such a delightful journey through your woodlands. Thank you for sharing.
Sunny :)
How absolutely beautiful it is there, and your home, your flowers, your poetry is all exquisite. And of course, your photographs. Thanks for the journey through your springtime heaven.
Ahhh, I have had my Wanda therapy for the day. I really ought to view your blog in the evening however when there are a few rough edges that need a gentle soothing.
You have such beautiful spring flowers and it is great how you really appreciate them. Thanks for letting us come along.
Dearest Wanda, how I adore your gorgeous spot on our globe! Nature, your house, the surroundings. I enjoyed each and every picture. Love apple blossoms and lilac, my buds are about to pop, my eye is glued to them ;)
Have a happy Tuesday! xx
Wanda-it looks like you live in the Garden of Eden. A joy to share this beauty with you. Your roast potatoes look so perfect, so perfect-yum.
Dear Wanda,
Your blooms are a feast for the eyes. However, I'm not sure about the Spring Beauty "potatoes" - I think I'll stick with your regular roasted ones, too. I can almost smell your Lilac, and my mother would smile at those Bleeding Hearts. Thank you for bringing me up the curving lane to enjoy your springtime. Little Alivia looks like she's saying a prayer for the fallen egg. Many smiles to you, Wanda. I may have to visit this post again just to enjoy your bounty.
What lovely, lovely pictures. I was really intriqued with the pawpaw bloom. I've never seen those before. Thank you for sharing this walk with me...and for waiting for me to catch up!
I am so glad I came for a visit today. I loved this post, what an amazing place you live at, all those flowering trees, wow, I could smell them . I had not seen a paw paw bloom before either, you do such a wonderful job with your blog. have a great day, until next time.
Wanda, your photos are always so beautiful! I guess we both had apple blossoms on our minds!
I had no idea there were "potatoes" under the Spring Beauties! I think I'll stick to my usual ones, too...but you were very brave to try them!
I think that my favorite is the buckeye flowers. They're fabulous, and you took great photos of them. I've never seen them in person.
It's hard to imagine that some flowers are losing their petals there already and that robins are laying their eggs. Enjoy the bounties of springtime!
Paw paws I would never have guessed what they were, dark or bright as I had never seen them before, but they are beautiful. Your house too looks beautiful surrounded by all those interesting shrubs and trees.
I was in heaven after strolling along your beautiful lawns and seeing all the buds and gorgeous views of Mother Nature. I love the smell of lilacs and cannot wait for them to bud here, not for a few weeks but well worth the wait. Your photos brought a big smile to my face. Thank you!
Lovely blooms, Wanda! I especially love your White Dogwood. I think it’s become to shady with big trees here for these to thrive. Your Paw Paw flowers are well ahead of ours.
Happy Spring, my dear friend!! Enjoy the smells, sounds, colors of one of my favorite times of the year. Take care and God bless ya!! Thanks for warming my heart with your blog posts.
I love seeing the unfurling of all the new life in your woods. I found the robins egg beautiful but sad.
Wanda~
A lovely walk around your place~ I loved the images & your rhyming poetry...
My favorite was your "spring beauty potato" smiley plate... that was just the cutest & made me smile, too!
:) thanks for that!
Hello Wanda, thank you for visiting my blog and leaving your kind comment :-) I really enjoyed your beautiful images of spring. Oh how I wish I had as much space :-)
Wanda, I've figured it out, finally. You live in paradise, don't you?
I've never seen a dogwood tree, at least not to recognize it, so now I know how lovely they are. Lilacs are my all-time favourite, and one of the few fragrant things that will survive winters in Calgary.
I've been getting quite behind in my blogging, but am glad I finally came by to see you, and your lovely things. Thanks for continuing to visit me, and thanks especially for what you do for Caroline.
You put up some truly lovely posts. it's a very peaceful, restful place to visit.
You post
Everything is so lovely! It must be majical to stroll along on your property. I can imagine you with a cup of tea sitting on your porch. The smells must be wonderful. Thank you for sharing a part of your little wonderland with us. Everything is just beautiful!
How awesome that you have so many comments/followers! Lovely, lovely post as usual; I am jealous of all the spring bloomers you have! Some are foreign to me, awesome to see. I attempted to go looking for wildflowers but the lighting was poor so I came back home.
The apple blossoms are my favorite! So delicate! And your photos as always make the most of the beauty around you! Oh, Wanda...I think your home and gardens must be a little taste of heaven! You have the magic touch! I am smiling with you as I walk along your garden paths!!! Love, Janine XO
It's so pretty here. Your photos are out of this world!!!!
I love blossoms...and I can count on coming here to find all kinds of them, Wanda. Photos of blossoms...words of blossom....simply a beautiful place to be. I'm going to have to go through the blog again, though.
Why? I didn't see a heart. I know that I must have missed it. Did I? :))
Thank you for a beautiful reminder of the wonder of spring...
Love,
Jackie
Ahhh....how silly of Jackie. The bleeding heart blossoms....lovely, Wanda. I knew they had to be there... :))
Hello, dearest Wanda! Just stopping by to send you much love! You've been in my thoughts! ~Janine XO
When I saw the picture of your house I was suddenly reminded of a similar picture but taken when it was snowing around christmas. It looked great then, just as it does now. Loved the pictures of all the blooms. They are unique and very pretty! It was a sight for sore eyes :)
Me again Wanda...I've got an award at my blog for you if you'd like to have it. Love that paw paw flower by the way, awesome!
Thanks for visiting my blog Wanda.
I'll visit your beautiful blog now!
I understand why you've got so many lovely comments on your magnificent pictures from where you live. It is a wonderful place.
I'm getting sentimental about the apple blossoms. They are some of the loveliest flowers of all, and I long to see them here too, but everything is late blooming and yesterday on May 1st was another cold day. But suddenly the warmth will arrive and everything will be blooming, both apple blossoms and all the other lovely flowers. Good to have something to look forward to! Have a nice day!
Cheers
Thyra
Me yet again, also love that May Apple flower...we may be moving to Florida instead of Alabama, Wanda, just wanted you to know my idea for my next blog may have to change!
Just to say I LOVE YOU! ~Janine XO
Just may have been the first Paw Paw blossoms I've seen (and we used to live near Paw Paw, MI....)
Apple blossoms and dogwood - they don't get much prettier! I enjoy everything about your property this time of the year. Thank you for sharing so creatively! Have a blessed week, Wanda!
Beautiful photo, and loved your morning doves.
Spring is here and it's beauty is taking over!
Apple Blossems,Rasberry vines, Violets, Lilac, Dogwood....You live in a beautiful place!
As always, I loved the journey you've taken me on.
I love my 'walks' here. It is peace to my soul.
Love, Debra
What a beautiful property you have.
I love that it all looks so natural, not regimented and formal.
The blossom is my favourite part of a Spring garden. You have so much, you must get lots of fruit.
big hugs
xx
Looks like you live in Paradise! I am envious! The only thing missing FOR ME is some snow. I will have to investigate more of your blog as I have time.
