One warm sunny day last week I found myself outside...
playing Frisbee with Alivia...
.
.
but we soon found ourselves in the woods...
.
where we discovered this "white anemone"...
.
I've never noticed them there before.
We also spotted the fern beginning to uncurl...
soon the hillsides will be covered with their lacy fronds
there's a puddle of water on the glass table...
but the rain is welcomed...because...
like the Wild Phox from the woods...

and this Bleeding Heart Alivia was so gently touching
a few years ago.

Easter Sunday came with a peaceful looking sunrise...

by that afternoon it was warm enough for Alivia
and her parents to walk back for Easter Dinner...
well they walked...she rode her dad's shoulders.

There was candy of course...
but most had the will power to
wait until after the meal.

We didn't eat this year until 3:30...
but it was probably worth waiting for!
One grandson (Andrew) just asked that we have...
apple pie, zucchini bread, and croissants.

.
Most will eat anything...but a few young ones are picky.
.
Daughter Annette's favorite is the coleslaw...
A few others always expect deviled eggs...
that would be son Rick, grandsons Dustin and Grant.

They all like smashed baked potatoes...

and Alivia and her mom(Sherri) "need" brussel sprouts!

washed as I cook...after the meal there's not many to do...
.
This year Rick washed, Sherri rinsed, Alivia passed them
to me, and I dried and put them away.
.
Amanda thought a photo of that was necessary...
before the meal...they had been teasing me
about taking photos of the food!

Anyway we ate and had a nice Easter!
I found myself discussing my Blog...
and several times mentioning many of you by name...
You've really wedged yourself into my life
...and made it even more pleasurable.
Thank You...My Blogger Friends!

So with April's alternating days of sunshine and showers...

Oh - I'm looking forward to your dogwood trees in bloom, too! What a yummy Easter dinner...you need to post some recipes on your sidebar, Wanda. What are smashed baked pototoes? They look fabulous - I enlarged all the photos but lingered a bit on the food ones...Those desserts!!!
It looks as though "Her Husband" will have a job repairing the porch roof!
Barb...it's small red potatoes
...cooked in boiling water just till tender...drained...sprinkled with olive oil...spread on a pan coated with olive oil...then each potato is smashed till they bust open...Salt and pepper...and any other seasoning you like...I used a mixed grilling seasoning...bake at 450 till crispy and brown...Rosemary and chives are good too.
MMMMMMMMMM...those smashed potatoes sound wonderful, and your Easter meal made my mouth water...I think that recipe's would be a good idea too. Things really are blooming nicely around your place, and getting greener every day. It is raining here right now, but it is supposed to turn to snow : ( but I am sure it won't stay long. Hope you get your porch roof fixed soon...and yes Wanda, visiting my grandchildren in California really lifted my spirits. : )
White Anemone...I have them all over and did not know what they were. Cannot wait to see what your home looks like in full bloom.

Wanda,
I so enjoyed your blog.Beautiful photos.I will be back to visit.
What a lovely rural area you live in with those woods right outside the door - lucky you. The Easter dinner looks delicious, I shall give those smashed potatoes a try.
I'm warmed by your invitation in to see the family and surroundings, thank you. Mine were all away or working and there's so few of us just yet. Alright if I save the pic of the unfurling fern to my documents/pictures? I wouldn't re-use it but would like to be able to look at it often and for a design idea I have. Spirals fascinate me; I expect it will have completely done its un-furling by now. May you be well & happy.
Thank you for sharing such special times with you. How blessed to find the anemone and the fern. They are beautiful. Nothing like that growing around here.
Debbie
