Dawn usually finds me up and waiting for the sunrise...
which became extra glorious Saturday morning...

...accompanied with every conceivable song bird singing...
...turkeys cobbling on the nearby ridge...
...dogs howling in the distance...
...even the approaching sad wail of sirens...
...even the approaching sad wail of sirens...
...all added to my enjoyment of the moment...
.

causing me to venture to the field...still in my pajamas...
to take a few more photos...before the fast moving clouds
and mood disappeared.

While in the field a pair of geese flew over my head all too quickly...
only caught them in the distance above the trees.

I then remembered my grandson Nathan...who is now 17...
-about 12 here-
was camping out with friends...in the woods...
so I walked over just close enough to sneak a small glimpse.
On the way back...just
a few more photos of the fading Forsythia...

...and dwindling Daffodils...before I go in.

When I looked toward the sky
I thought of my blogging friend Barb...in Colorado...

the clouds had compacted into...
her snow covered mountains...

but directly overhead they appeared as numerous cotton balls...

that quickly drifted off...leaving just a clear blue sky.

The sun was fully up...it was time to go in the back door...
and start my day!

A few hours later...
my grandson Andrew walked through the woods alone...
for a visit with gramma and grampa...
or was it more likely a chance for...
his favorite warm from the oven homemade cookies...
and placing of the 24 pieces of candy...

into the still warm cookies fresh from the oven!

Blogging has changed my routine...
I now do not go outside without this bag...
which holds my camera...never know what I might find.

Can you see what I found here?

Did you find this Bumble Bee...hiding in the above photo?

Can you find the Eastern Towhee in this photo...
or the Chipping Sparrow in this one?
You should have found 4 finches.
Over the weekend I cooked a few easy meals...

I finally happened to see the comment that you left me on my Rag Rugging Reverie site, visited your site (so lovely),signed up to "follow" and now am wondering how that rug is coming along. (?) :) Looking forward to getting to know you better.
Oh Wanda another beautiful walk with you today and thank you for the beautiful heart clouds, I wanted my jelly beans and blanket to pick out more shapes in those beautiful fluffy clouds. Your meals made my mouth water and I was especially drawn to the cookies. God has given your grandchildren the most beautiful grandmother ever!. Take care my friend, I so enjoy you being you, your amazing:) Bernie
I always enjoy going on walks with you on your property. I enjoyed counting the birds- I only counted 3 at first, but when I looked again, I did find 4 tucked away! I so enjoy coming to your post, for I never know what I may find. It is always beautiful and an adventure.

It makes me happy!!!
You take the time to appreciate the little things God gives us, and you share them with me!
Thanks!!
I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy reading your blog...you make me feel so much better when I am down...thank you. And thanks for visiting...I wish I could write as well as you do...lol. But then I guess our blogdom wouldn't be nearly as interesting, would it!
This is the first time I am visiting your blog. And I have to tell you that you are an ace photographer. So loved all those pictures. I could vividly imagine all of that :-) They can all be converted into desktop wallpapers. They are that good! And I am sure the food you made was sumptuous too! Take care!
Wow, it feels so good to see and read your blog. My time in California has been wonderful and busy, but often I thought about you and Bernie. My heart is full of love and joy, and SUNSHINE! Good to be back to share your beautiful life.
Wow, I so enjoyed walking around and looking at the sky and trees with you. What beautiful pics. I am always looking up at the sky whether day or night. Thanks for the peak at your world.
Debbie
I really enjoyed your post and the cookies look really yummy. I look forward to reading more.
Great sky photos especially the second one - that is just so beautiful. Always a good idea to appreciate what you have while you have it - though I imagine you didn't have those cookies for very long:)
Hi Wanda,
I've been MIA for the last couple days, doing a lot of biking in Denver (out of the snow!). You see what happens when you mention my CO snow on your blog - I send some to you! I think maybe you need to post the Peanut Butter Cup cookie recipe on your blog - although if I just look at yours & don't eat any - no calories. I loved your sky pictures, but my very favorite was the one of purple finches in the evergreen. I absolutely couldn't find 4 of those other little brown birds hiding in the leaves and twigs. Don't do that to me - I scanned both pictures forever & only found 2!
Take Care & have a wonderful (sunny I hope) weekend.
Hello Again,
You wouldn't believe how long I tried to find 4 sparrows and 4 towhees! Yes,I found the 4 finches immediately! I just misread and thought there were 4 of the other birds, too! (You wouldn't know I was a Reading Specialist, would you?)
Happy Easter to you and your Family!
I had never seen a bumble bee this close before, thank you :)
