Last of the Season

I'm hoping last week's snow,
seen here out my back window, will be the
"last of the season"...
.

because warmer weather will mean a change in our menu!

Our meals the last several days resulted from my making

way too much of a low-fat cheese sauce.

Day one we had the sauce over noodles with peppers and meatballs.

Day two I added chopped spinach to the sauce and again
.
we had it over the noodles, but with chicken and vegetables.
.

I baked biscuits on day three; the spinach sauce was added

to a pot of cooked potatoes and we had that with bacon bits.

Day four.....the potatoes again.....but with fish and vegetables.

On day five I baked cornbread.....

added two cans of celery soup, cooked carrots,

and chopped black olives.....to make potato soup.

Day six it was potato soup again with bacon bits and a little coleslaw.

Even though the soup was good......

when I think potato soup..... I think cold wintry weather.

So...I'm happy to say this potato soup was probably.....

"the last of the season"
.
because.....
.
today
.
"I saw Green "

Note the little green bug too!!

It's a Southern Green Stink Bug

Oh Wanda I can almost taste all of your meals. Your present them really nice. I love potato soup, my mum used to make it all the time during the winter and like you added different vegetables and salad to go with it. I so wish I could take a picture as well as you do let alone be able to post them. What a gift you have my friend. Hope you and your family are well, take care/I care, Bernie

Hi Wanda! Oh girl I cannot wait for spring. I find myself doing a lot of waiting too! It surely has been a loonnngggg winter & I am so ready to be done with it! Wonderful pics of the yummy food!

Another common for us ..... My youngest son's name is Stephen. Actually today I am the only one that calls him Stephen ... everyone else calls him Steve. Happy Birthday to your Steve :-)

Your blog...made me so hungry...for food and for spring! I can smell the food and the spring air, as I read your blog and it makes me smile...it has become a precious moment of mine to share a "slice of your life" Wanda.

Wanda, I have looked and looked among the green shoots of your bulbs. I've even enlarged the picture. I cannot find the little bug! Can you give me a hint?

Barb...look in the lower right corner...it looks just like the tip of the leaves...click the photo an enlargement.

Oh - I see it! When I enlarged, I forgot to scroll a bit to the right...

Another question for you. My photos will not enlarge automatically with a click. Did you have to do something special on blogger? I've searched for the answer but no luck. I like looking at yours larger sometimes.

Thanks Sue, actually Steve was here this morning for awhile and he's here again this evening. It is funny how much that little bug looks like the daffodils.

wow! i can't beleive all those things that you made! and to have the presence of mind to photograph them all! i guess even with the 2 of you, you must have definetely made WAY too much of that cheese sauce! but you sure varied it up really well! i saw some buds peeking through the ground, too, and will do a post on that later. don't want you to think that i'm copying you!

Barb...I upload them in the reverse order of how I want them to appear, if I were to click and drag them to another position, they lose their ability to enlarge.
