I find nature entertaining and so......like many others...
I like to "watch and see" .....
This photo, from last summer, I believe is of a baby
Wood Thrush or Brown Thrasher.....but I'm not sure!
porch or near by with it's cheerful song. I think of them as
polite and friendly little birds.....
but.....
This Carolina Wren is drying in the sun...after being in the birdbath.....note the water drops on the railing...
and...
..... this squirrel is getting some sun time too!Our grandsons were the first to see this swarm of bees
in the trunk of an old cedar tree by the drive.....
None of them managed to get stung.....
as far as we know anyway!
This brings me to other visitors.....
I can't help feeling some things in nature are slightly
.....less welcomed than others.
I don't know which makes me cringe more...
this turkey vulture, which we know
only eats dead carcasses.....
-"move in" -
right above the glider on the front porch!
I know they eat mosquitoes at night... while circling
around the light out back, but
they should sleep in the barn.
Then these skunks.....are giving me concern.....
with their occasional sleepovers under our shed.
So far they seem more afraid us than we of them
...but still...
...but still...
there's concern!
Groundhogs are different.....they stay mostly near the barn or hillside.
We just get glimpses, as they run from one to the other.
Chipmunks.....you couldn't keep away.....
even if you wanted to...
so might as well give them a snack!
Life is always somewhere to be watched and seen.....
even in the clouds!
See if you can spot a little boy
...with his arms out stretched...
...and his dog running toward him...
That's what I see!!!

Wanda, these pictures are spectacular! My favorites are the bee swarm and the chipmunk in the gardening gloves. What I like best about these candid photos of Nature is their spontaneity. We just couldn't hope for a better pose than Nature gives us!
Oh Wanda what beautiful pictures, I envy your knowledge on birds especially. The only one I know for sure is "robin" I love all of them but I do really like the "bluejay" which I am lucky enough to recognize whenever I see one. I love all God's creatures even the "evil" ones but I wouldn't want them on my porch either. Sooooo enjoy your blog Wanda, thank you for sharing. Take care my blogger friend and yes I had a beautiful last day in February. xo
I loved the picture in the clouds, and it especially made me smile and remember a time when I used to lay on my back in the grass and find all kinds of amazing pictures in the sky. I used to do that on summer nights in the evening too, just waiting for a 'falling star' so that I could wish upon it. Thank you so much for bringing back these memories, for I had forgotten them. You have so much wildlife around you, that is such a blessing.
Wanda,
I like coming to your blog to see all your nature photos. I enjoyed looking at all the animal pictures. The chipmunk is so cute. Is he sitting in a glove? Groundhog Day is one of my favorite days, so I liked seeing that Groundhog standing up. I especially liked the Squirrel taking in the sun.
Hi Wanda, just noticed your note on Terri's blog, we all make spelling errors on our comments as there is no spell check....well at least that is what I think anywat.
I also use to lay on the grass with the kids, eat jelly beans and we would alwlays find so many different animals, people and one afternoon Scotty found a shape of a rocking chair. Now those are beautiful memories to me, thank you, xo
The pictures are fabulous! And yes, it took me a few seconds, but I did see the boy with outstretched arms and the dogging runnning towards him! I love looking at the clouds too, to see what I can see!
