Enough to Eat

Don't these pansies look almost good enough to eat!
.
.
They were a gift from a friend..
For years now...I have been meeting with several
friends from my grade school days...
...those days would be back in the 50's...
...anyway...
we get together once a month for lunch...
and celebrate...
the birthdays of that month.
This was my and friend Marty's month...
so I received pansies for my garden yesterday...
plus all of these nice presents...
although my birthday isn't until the end of March.
.

There were dish towels,
a journal, note pads, Harry and David Salsa,
lotion for body and feet, homemade slippers, homemade cookies
and caramels...and a caramel scented candle.

It is always fun spending a few hours with them

...talking and getting more than enough to eat...

at our local diner...

gifts or no gifts!
~
Thank you Barb, Bobbie, Betty, Beverly, Cheryl, Marty,
and Bernice(Barb's Mom)
~
Now...
.
...look at this photo of my very fat little Carolina Wren friend!
.
...looks like it's been getting enough to eat...
.

and this large muscular deer raiding our birdfeeder again!

I'm sure she's getting enough to eat...
.
and
.
this morning I spied a few turkeys back in the woods...
.

They show up off and on all year...

sometimes as many as 15 or more!

They too appear very plump and healthy!

Everyone seems to be getting enough to eat this
.
past winter...
~

including me!
.

This dinner was salmon shortcakes...
red potatoes with mixed vegetables...
and a biscuit!

What a wonderful day you have had my dear blogger friend. There is no better day for me than to spend it with my friends and especially old school friends. Sometimes I feel closer to them than family and they are when it comes to certain things but we both know nothing replaces family. I had salmon today as well, at brunch with a dilled sauce....delicious. I hope today will be another beautiful day for you and all those you love. Take care/I care Hugs

It must be so nice to meet with old friends from your childhood on a regular basis. Guess I missed out on that...however since my divorce I have made several good friendships, which I think I need to nurture. Again, I enjoy your comments and your blog.

Yes it is wonderful meeting with friends --- new ones (on blogger land) and also those in reality world! I am having dinner tomorrow nite with 2 of my dear friends.....I thought of you when I saw my chipmunk climb up my birdfeeder pole to try and get to the sunflower seed & he did once & fell the next 3 times and quit. Again I couldn't get pics because of the windows....But it sure game me a laugh!!!!! Gotta go fix cornbread.....

I JUST realised you had a photo of a deer in the bird feeder, that brings back memories of my home in Maine, we had a lovely ranch on 2 acres of river front. It always amazed me how much wildlife we had in winter around the feeders.

thanks for the memory!
