Most sunrises this past week have been very bright...
with very little coloring...almost white.....

I'm of the nature that I prefer getting up before dawn.
I like having my coffee and hearing the "noise" of the song birds
break the silence of morning...while the sun rises .
I am often out very early...either walking in the woods...
or working in the yard...with temperatures close to 80
this week...the yard work was done early...while
the shadows were still long...[that's the only time I'm tall.]
Herhusband managed to place the cover on the gazebo...
while I brought the furniture from the shed in a wheel barrow.
We've only sat under it once so far...but that will change...
there's plenty of time...after
.
there's plenty of time...after
.
we plant a small garden...
continue to pick up brush from winter...
and spray a few plants to keep the deer from
feasting on them...like they did the
feasting on them...like they did the
Yucca plant this past winter.

I may spray a harmless concoction to keep the deer off...
but I don't spray the dandelions in the yard...
they are as welcomed as the wild violets in the yard...

These are wild flowers too...that find a home here
on their own...in the yard.
The Trillion though.....prefers to stay in the shade
of the woods and stay really wild and untamed...

almost as wild and untamed as a wild boar...
which if you look closely you may also find in the woods...
I did...can you?

I was just taking a photo of yet another tree that fell
oddly between two others...when I noticed the resemblance.
Here's another fallen tree that needs attention...
looks a little dangerous...since grandkids don't stay in the yard.
So the yard work and "inspection" of the woods...
...not all the walks are just for enjoyment...
has us eating quick meals...like...
a green olive & sun-dried tomato pizza...

pasta and vegetable salads...

and taking a few quick breaks for tea.
because some prefer honey in their tea...and...

I love the wild violets - the dandelions - well not so much but I let them have their day. Happy birthday in your family. I love sunrises but I seem to like my sleep a lot also! The apple blossoms are exquisite.
I always feel so peaceful and happy after I read your blog, it's just wonderful. Your family is so beautiful, is Dustin Annette's son? WOW I can really see all the work done on your yard, looks so inviting. I know you and Her Husband will enjoy all the blessings they have and work so hard for. I think it's great how you have such a full day by getting up so early, I am like the Tin Man when I wake up and it takes me awhile to fully move around. I am just happy I can move!!! I so hope you keep the beautiful warm temperatures, now that may be something that would get me more mobile in the mornings. Have a great day tomorrow.......:-) Hugs
Spring is beautiful Wanda and you capture it so well.I agree with Claudia about the wild violets. I love them too!Your pizza made me hungry! You are blessed with a lovely family. Best wishes to Sherri for a happy birthday!
I loved the tall shadows! and the video of the song birds at Dawn. My favorite bird is the one that says "cheese bur ger" lol, but I have no idea what it is called. Happy Birthday to Alivia's mom, and what are you going to do with the kittens when they arrive! Hope you have a wonderful day!
Hi Wanda,
I wasn't on the computer much this weekend. We're preparing for a bike trip to CA - we'll drive out with our bikes in the van, leaving next Sun. No wonder you love dawn - you have a symphony in your back yard! (I think maybe I heard your wind chimes, too!) You'll laugh at this - I really studied your pizza picture because I was mesmerized by what was to the side of the yummy pie. I finally realized it was the pizza cutter! I did see the boar's head - you have so many "dead wood" sculptures on your land. I'm glad your temps are so inviting now. It's snowing again here in Denver. I've enjoyed "visiting" with you and seeing what's growing. Take Care. Happy Birthday to Sherri!
What an exotic sunrise. The way you described the way your day begins makes me want to be with you too! Pizza looks very appetizing too! I really liked the way you've set up your dining table! How perfect!!
You know the names of all flowers and shrubs, which is just amazing. I'm getting to know them from you now :)
Your grand-daughter Alivia looks like an angel in the true sense of the word. A very Happy Birthday to her Mum :-) Here's looking forward to pictures of the way the birthday was celebrated and some cakes too :)
Beautiful photos. I especially like the cheek-by-jowl dandelion and violet.
And welcome to MyGreenVermont!
Enjoyed your post --- as always. Hey, could you visit http://my-scattered-ramblings.blogspot.com/?(The Incredible Woody). She's trying to find out what her blooming plant is. No one seems to know... maybe you would know. Thanks
I've tried to comment on Bernie's blog 3 times. Each time was unsuccessful. I wonder why?
Wanda - You are my new hero! If my tree isn't a Snowdrop Bush, it's close enough that that's what I'm calling it!! Thanks!
You take beautiful pictures!!
I knew you would know what kind of bush it was! I googled it and found similar blooms... You were right! Thanks!
I can tell you don't like spring at all! HA!
Great pictures! My granddaughter and I were also playing with the long shadows last week. I loved your comment about that's the only time you are tall! ME TOO! Have a great day!
What a gift you have for capturing on camera the beauty of "your" world! We just returned from 2 weeks in beautiful North Carolina & Tennessee. Wildflowers in their peak! Back home again in Indiana, we're taking delight in watching our perennials grow almost HOURLY! Lilac and flowering crab....green, green grass....The Lord God made them all!
