Lavender Skies & Fern Valley

Guess what it is doing outside...very light showers
off and on today.....except for one "sudden down pour"
.....which caught me by surprise!

I had just finished planting
tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, zucchini,
squash, basil, rosemary, parsley, and cosmos...
when I became drenched in no time.

.

We accomplished a lot this week...besides buying
the plants mentioned...Herhusband bought strawberry
plants for a rather large planter box he had made.
Over on the hillside near the path our grandchildren
use...I helped him remove a fallen tree that was
just barely resting on another...it was an accident
waiting to happen...
.
Here he's throwing a looped rope over it...
He attached it to the tractor and successfully
pulled it down...Safe for now!

Then I went in and made Strawberry Bread.
It was good...but I think I prefer Zuchinni Bread!

Earlier in the week we had a pinkish lavender blue sunrise.

These colors stood out to me in other places too...
in this patch of Wood Sorrel...

...but not in this Lilley of the Valley...

...but here it is in the Red Bud trees...

...but not...of course...in the Dogwood!

Over on the hillside...
while removing the dangerous dangling tree...
I spotted this single purplish blossom on a
small Paw Paw tree!

So...while we're here in the woods... follow me to
Fern Valley.

It has a few magical looking trees and things...
...to see...
...like this tree with it's two main trunks...with
arms reaching as if it were trying to escape...but can't...

...because it's tied down with vines!

You can see a strange orange fungus...and
if you click to enlarge you can see a tiny-tiny snail!

In Fern Valley...
you can see dead trees...
that look like towering steeples...

or scary faces...that look somewhat evil!

But in Fern Valley...
there's also trees...in this world...
that look just like
a

Dancing Girl!

Also in Fern Valley...
you may see a cat in the clouds.....
...sometimes...

Wanda, Fern Valley seems magical. And I think you should make more videos,it was very calming! You must be an early riser too!

Hi Wanda,
HerHusband must have used Miracle Grow on his strawberry plants if you already harvested some for bread! (I make strawberry bread, too, when I don't have quite enough bananas for all banana bread. I just chop in enough strawberries to make up the difference.) Loved all the wonderful tree "people" and creatures. Yes - I thought of you in the park when I saw that heart! My favorite photo was of the tiny snail - such detail!
I'm going to listen to your birdsong again tomorrow morning as I drink my coffee here in Breckenridge. Snow is in the forecast...

Oh very beautiful, I wish I had a beautiful area like you live in. But then we all have beauty around us if we look for it. Thank you for sharing your world!

I think this is my favorite blog yet!!!! Enjoyed everything tonight Wanda, your strawberry bread looks delicious. Watching how Herhusband and you work together on that tree made me lonesome for my late husband. We use to always do these outside things together and he was so good with plants and flowers. Enjoy the wonderful years God has given you together my dear friend, I am so happy for both of you.....:-) Hugs

It's all so picture postcard perfect! Going by the way the strawberry bread looks, I am sure you are an amazing cook. It is so nice of you to plant your own kitchen garden :) The sunrises also look so perfect! Keep posting these pictures, they make me so happy :)

Hi Wanda! Have missed you... Loved the pics of Fern Valley. You do have a vivid imagination - I love it :-) The strawberry bread looks yummy. I make a diabetic banana bread and I was thinking I would just substitute strawberries! Why didn't I think of that??? Also your coffee cup next to the bread looks just like mine. Always knew we had lots in common :-) Please tell me how you add pictures and then type between them. I'm working on that......Have a wonderful week-end. I know we should appreciate the rain, but I'm getting a little weary of it, but it does make the spring flowers God sends us grow & greet us happily!

Oh Wanda - I wish I could see with your eyes! I may have to set one of my plays in Fern Valley. Of course - it would have to be a magical play. So lovely. Send us your rain! Our dogwoods are a few weeks away from blossoms. Thanks for my refreshing moments with your blog.

Yup, Fern Valley is Magical...I love the pictures you took here...I find myself looking at the trees to see their characters, and at the sky to see what magical things I can see (like the hundreds of geese) and other imaginary things like cats... : ) Your video was amazing too, I would love to wake up to that every morning, you certainly live in a beautiful place, but I am noticing that almost every place is beautiful if you look for it...Wanda are you sure that is a Sandpiper? I thought so too, but I have never seen one of those this far North...Thanks for you Blog! I know I have to slow down a bit...trying to keep ahead of the blues...

Hi Wanda, I came to repay the visit, and to thank you for the comment you left on my blog yesterday.

I agree with Diana, Fern Valley seems magical! The pictures are beautiful, and the scenery is stunning. You are so blessed to live surrounded by such beauty. What a fantastic place for grandkids to play (and grown-up kids!). :-)

Hi Wanda, I did google Upland Sandpiper, and I think you are right. Well, I must say that is the first time I have seen one of those, but then, I have not really been looking, until recently...you opened my eyes to a whole new world : ) thanks so much.
