I promised a vase of daisies to someone!

My Poem
This poem is for Marcy, she's our blogger police.
If it weren't for dear Bernie, in jail I would be.
Failed to acknowledge some awards I received,
Guilty as charged...but been too busy you see.
Just too many to get...it was four in one week,
I'm shy by nature...found it hard to just speak,
My fate should be pardoned by this single feat,
but choosing 28 others...I can't take the heat.
The daisies are for Stillness, they're her special treat,
As for our friend Teresa...I think she's really neat,
And oh yes, all of us know...Eileen's very sweet,
and comments from Diana are as funny as can be.
Barb's in her mountain...which just turned snow free,
Jackie's on vacation probably up sitting in a tree,
Delwyn broke her ankle, say a prayer for her please,
Annette is my daughter...and a special one to me.
Can't fit all your names in, it's impossible you see,
There's Brenda, Linda, Lisa, Claudia, Robyn, Sue, Anne, T, and Lizzie,
Rebecca, Rowan, Joan, Janet, Jientje, Jacquelyn, Jain and Cindy.
Yes, one and all... have become... very good friends to me!

~Now for Friday Favorites~
.
.
This is just a simple little stool...but inside
.

are these little dolls I made...they have buttons
for arms...the buttons were from my
Mother in law's old sewing tin.

I love this cookie tin that once belong to my mother.

This is my favorite get away room...it
contains all the clutter of my sentimentality...
things I can't part with...note the phone...
it had once been a gift from me to my mother...
as was the clock.

Alivia loved to play with the phone...
a month after mother passed Alivia picked it up and said "Gramma...Grannie wants to talk."
Even though I have a computer in this room...
I usually end up in Herhusband's computer
room on his...He has a better chair.

Now I don't feel so guilty!
Three things in one post...
a poem, the awards, and favorite things.

And what a great job you did!
Phenomenal!
I don't know where to begin!
the daisies are beautiful and so perfectly arranged in the vase. They were picked on your property I'm assuming. Really pretty!
Your poem was outstanding and all inclusive! How sweet!
I loved learning all these new things about you. And am I the only one who didn't know Annette was your daughter?! I happened to click on her while reading comments on Teresa's blog a few weeks ago and I am enjoying Annette's blog a lot!
I feel like I am so out of the loop! Well, I certainly never claimed to be the brightest bulb!
I love all your favorites! The little step stool is darling and the dolls are adorable! You are very talented, and I love that you used the buttons from your mother-in-law's sewing box.
The cookie tin is a real treasure. Do you use it for cookies or do you use it for keepsakes?
I liked seeing where you like to sit and where you blog, and seeing the things you hold dear.
The phone story was beautiful and touching.
You know how much I love all your outdoor picture posts, Wanda, but I enjoyed this immensely too!
Thank you.
You're a great poet, Wanda...is there no end to your talents? While reading about the dolls in that cute stool, I was so surprised when I saw them as they are just adorable, another case of a picture is worth a thousand words.
How sweet that you, too, have something that you gave your mother (love that Alivia said you had a call from your mother) as well as her cookie tin.
It doesn't look like there is any clutter in your room...so nicely organized and inviting.
I, too, have randomly read encyclopedias...how funny!
So good to learn more about you always...although I DID learn something ever so sweet (without you saying a word) and that was seeing you become of follower of Ann of Green Cables, knowing she had almost no one...thank you, sweet friend, for being such a good example!
blessings with hugs,
marcy
Every comment about yourself fits. It is too wonderful and honest and beautiful. I read the World Book Encyclopedia cover to cover - but hated the photos of bugs! Love the sentimental room- somethings are forever - to be handed down.
Oh Wanda, Marcy is going to be so proud of you and did you have to make me look so bad...LOL I really enjoyed your poem, and your post. I knew many of your list but the favorites were so nice to see. I loved the phone, cookie tin and foot stool well I loved everything really. I had to smile at what Alivia said, she is so cute Wanda, I am beginning to enjoy her so very much and find myself looking for her in your post. Have a great Friday my friend and as always.....:-) Hugs
Wow...I'm impressed Mom! You are a poet too! I'm so proud! :) xoxo
Did you let Dad read it? I bet he liked it!
Hello Wanda,
Well, if there is an example of both right and left brain - you're it! Can't believe all you managed to accomplish in one post. Your # 7 could apply to me, too. I like your sentimental room; it looks like a comforting place to sit and think. Smiles to you.
Well Wanda all I have to say is you are so cool! Yes you are cool. This was an amazing post from the beginning poem ( you are a poet, and we didn't know it ) and then the seven new things that we got to know about you,I would have gone mad in the hospital for 30 days, and then on top of that you even posted Friday favorites! Like I said , you are just too cool!
Oh and four awards in one week, now we all know who's cool! Hope you've got your shades on!
Wanda, I ment to tell you that my doctor and his wife have Celtic Wedding Bands and they are gorgeous. The ones they have are wide as well. I seen quite a few of them when I was in Ireland.
.....:-) Hugs
Thank you SO MUCH WANDA. Am beaming end to end :D
You did an amazing job of poetry and rhyming :D It's so good to know that you are still in touch with friends from school :) The dools are very very cute :D And I liked the cookie tin too! Beautiful flowers it has on the top. Your cushions are beautiful too! Really really liked them :-) Your phone is very nice too! We used to have those too in the good old days :)
a month after mother passed Alivia picked it up and said "Gramma...Grannie wants to talk.". There is something there. Do notice the depth :)
You've got a really nice desk for the computer too! I love EVERYTHING about your home and it's surrounding :D
Hello Wanda
this is a real medley post..just a lovely combination.
These awards are making us disclose aren't they? and from that we learn more of our blog friends.
I recognise many things of myself in you ...that's probably why we resonate with each other's blogs...
I have learned that you are clever, beautiful, a gardener, a loving grandmother, a book lover, a great friend,
and very self contained I think...
Happy days
T,Eileen,Marcy,Claudia,Bernie,Annette,Barb,Diana,&Stillness...
It was nice finding your comments this morning...
I just keep the tin on a shelf in my computer room Eileen...the doll Marcy on the right with the little smirk...has it's name( Manikia ) on it's tummy...made up from all the names of the loved females in my life...and Claudia all that reading must have influenced your writing of your plays :)...Thank you Bernie, Alivia is special to me...We used the phone to talk to Grannie several times after that...Annette, I don't know if yet...but he does read my blog...Barb, I know that about you too, and being silent and alone is like meditation...Diana, no one has ever told me I'm cool, Thanks!...and I did go crazy in those 30 days...picked up the famous dreaded "hospital infection", antibioctics weren't working and family was told it's in God's hands, but here I am!and Stillness...the talking to my Mother with Alivia was a gift to me...and deep in meaning...
Thank you Delwyn...I just left your blog...self contained might be right...I tend to be a home body...and happy with my simple life.
Wanda,
I loved your poem.
I liked learning about my blogger friend. High School Sweethearts. I love hearing stories like that. We do have some things in common. I like quiet alone time and I love to read books.
A wonderful post—a paean to the common, quite life…which in your case is so gloriously uncommon, and proclaimed with grace and joy.
You are so, so blessed…
What a lovely post, I enjoyed it much, loved the poem and your favourite things, but the story of the phone moved me. There is more between heaven and earth. I'm sure of that.
One of these days, I'm going to follow suit and try my hand at poetry. Just how long did it take you to come up with such a personalized poem?! Thanks for peek into your personal space. It appears warm, welcoming, sentimental and gentle. I also like the reminder that "listen" and "silent" contain the same letters - rearranged. That's DEEP!
I thoroughly enjoyed myself here this afternoon.
*Choices...maybe you could tell us 7 things about yourself :)
*Scribe...thank you so much!...
*I believe so too Jientje!
*Rebecca...the poem took maybe half an hour...the 7 things lonnngggerrr. :)
I so enjoy your blog, a relaxing end of the day read. Thanks to your blog I bought some Repell All and I now have a ornamental sweet potato plant that is more then 4 inches tall! Too late for the hostas but possibly some of my lillies will recover. Love your office and I see we share some reading favorites, Julie Z's 'Letters from Eden' resides on your desk, mine is on my coffee table.
Rose
Thank you Rose for visiting and commenting...I saw Julie Z at a book signing and bought it...even met her famous dog Chet Baker.
What a cute poem....
I really liked your photos of your place too...I could look at the desk with your stuff on it a while too. ha
Hi Wanda. Wow! What a great poem and flower arrangement. Beautiful.
Have a safe and happy 4th. And as always thank you for visiting my blog and leaving such wonderful and encouraging comments.
Cindy
I have a gift to share with you on my blog. I know how you feel about "awards" but this one is different.
Love, Annette
One more thing... Feel free to pass it on or just enjoy having received it. I just wanted you to know...You are my inspiration
That was a lovely load of things to create and launch into the ether, thank you. Cheered me when I had a spot of up-side-down-mouth!
Wanda,
I enjoyed your "7 Things" the most. Out here in Blogland, we have to maintain some privacy and a little anonymity, so it's extra specially nice to get a glimpse of a real person once in a while.
In friendship,
