It's all about food today...fresh home grown...
and some fresh homemade...like the
Banana Pecan Breakfast Muffins I make...
my grandchildren love them...sometimes I add
dried cranberries or cherries...
~
This time I even added chocolate chips...
to just a few!
~
I also bake buttermilk biscuits...
~

enough to go in the freezer for future meals.
Well the Village, which is a group of
good blogging friends, has 2 residents
~
"Teresa and Eileen"
~
that suggested we should post photos
of the food we eat each day for a week.
Starting today!
Starting today!
Well, Monday granddaughter Katie...
surprised me with Tim Horton coffee...
she stops at the restaurant everyday now,
for a onion bagel and cream cheese
~
Tim Horton Coffee is a
favorite of both Bernie and Teresa,
who live in Canada...I had never had it!
I started my day at 6:00am
with a cup of coffee...
one with dark chocolate chips!
At 11:30 I baked the buttermilk biscuits...
and wholegrain rice with mixed vegetables.

and I had iced cranberry tea to drink!
and I had iced cranberry tea to drink!
with just a sprinkle of coconut.
toffee almond biscotti!
~
...that's right Eileen...
~
dark chocolate!
I had a snack of chicken salad on triscuits...
with hot sauce...
a few bread and butter pickles...
and cherry tomatoes from the garden.
I had also cranberry flavored water to drink.
biscuit with melted cheddar cheese on top...
and a spoonfull of...
cherry, blueberry, blackberry spread...
plus a few almonds...to nibble on!
I try not to eat anything after 8:00pm.

Oooooo, if I lived in your house I'd be the size of a bungalow! Healthy but huge. You've given me inspiration and ideas because I get a little stuck with kitchen things and I need strength, oh how I need some. x
Oh, Wanda, I want EVERYTHING you ate today! It all looks wonderful!
Ray's been dieting so I've been eating in the middle of the day more now too with Jayden, then at supper time he'll either go out with his Mom and Dad to the diner or she'll fix him something here. I usually just snack or fix myself leftovers, and Ray has one of his diet meals.
I hope Teresa feels better soon.
Are we the only three doing this? I think Gail was going to do it too.
Hey! Where's Marcy been? No Wednesday poem from her? What's going on?
"See" you tomorrow!
I'm going up to bed, I'm actually really tired and I have a lot to do tomorrow.
Good post!
Good night!
Love,
Eileen
Oh Wanda, everything looks so good.that is a good idea you all have..i will be looking for your next post on this..
Hello Wanda,
I'm still stuck on the cornbread in the last post and now am assailed with banana muffins and biscuits! Luckily, it's soon bedtime here in CO, and I don't eat after 8 either. Otherwise, your post might have led to a snack...OH - that reminds me of the chocolate cake you made for Marcy. I'll just have to go to bed hungry. Good Night!
I’m really a frustrated food blogger and now I’m wondering if we all are!
Brava! on your harvest, Wanda! I’m still waiting for my first bell peppers to go from green to red -- it’s a long wait! Everything looks amazing, especially the muffins and biscuits (I’m a sucker for bread). Tim Horton’s coffee once kept me alive on an 18-hour trek through Ontario. I bow to Tim. :o) Dark chocolate, I hear, is akin to medicine these days. Hooray!
Looking forward to the rest of your week!
I've decided that your name is not Wanda. You've been pulling my leg all this time...baaaaaad girl. Why did you do that?? Did you not think I wouldn't find out...
Your secret's up. Yes...I'm putting it out here for all the world to know.
Wanda's real name...
(are you ready?)
Betty Crocker.
She doesn't live where she implies....She lives in Dreamland....deer everywhere....only the prettiest rocks and trees...and flowers.
So, Betty, I'm jealous!! Green!
Yep....envious.
I'm so pleased to call you friend.
Thank you for another beautiful blog.
Love,
Jackie
Oh my goodness! How in the world do you do it? Growing up on a farm at the edge of town, I always was a bit envious of the "townies." Just now I was thinking that I could never be a villager cuz I can't cook. Oh, I love to have people over but I am much more of a Joy of Cooking person than a Julia Child artful cook. Yours was truly a feast for the eyes! Wow! All I can say is YUM!
I do so love your blog or did I just say that last time.
I just read Jackie's comment. Yup, I think she is definitely onto something!
Hi Wanda, you do eat healthy and very well. I am hungry just reading your post. Okay I am going to post what I ate today as well, not nearly as good as your meals were.
Those biscuits are mouth watering.
Have a great day sweetie, Have a wonderful day tomorrow my friend......luv ya...:-) Hugs
I beliebe you! I believe! And I want it all. And isbn;t it grand who it all comes straight from the earth?
Well Wanda, I got hungry again after I read your post and so ate a bowl of cereal!! I am glad you could enjoy a cup of Timmies, and that buscuit with the melted cheese and jam looked so yummy. By the way I do feel better, think I just had a bit of anxiety. (((hugs)))) T
Hi Wanda! Everything looked scrumptious! I've never heard of Tim Horton coffee. I'll have to look around for that..Also, I want some of that chocolate caramel chai tea...that sounds yummy! Can I come eat at your house?
Hugs! Jerelene
Whoa, ytou made my mouth water!!! Your food looks absolutely divine!!!
You made me hungry at seven thirty in the morning!!
Can you please publish the recipe of the buttermilk biscuits and the breakfast muffins? Or send them to me in an email? I don't think I can live without it any longer!!
Wow it all sounds healthy but then perhaps a few unhealthy things snuck in!
I dont bake cakes or biscuits any more but I do make bread and then I dont really eat it or I would be the size of a house.
Hi Wanda
what a list of delicious foods...
Are the biscuits like a bread roll?
And I want to know how you survive on a muffin for breakfast...that is my big meal...
Are the salmon Shortcakes done in a rue?
and the strangest thing to me is the way that you combine the savoury cheese topped biscuit with the sweet berry jam...it kind of made my teeth stand on edge...now chutney I can understand...
I love almonds too...
It is no wonder that you are very sprightly and healthy...
Happy days
Yummy yummy. What delicious meal you prepare.
What a yummy day of food!
Delwyn doesn't know the secret of cheese with a dab of something sweet yet. Delicious - I often have toast with cheddar cheese and jam for breakfast. Yum.
What's that old rhyme "Apple pie without cheese, is like a kiss without a squeeze".
Hi Lizzie, you need strength for the restoring jobs you're doing! :)
Eileen, I wonder where Marcy is too!
Hi Andora, I don't usually post everyday, don't know if I can do it, we'll see!
Hi Barb, no matter what you eat, I'm sure your hiking takes it off.
Hi Jain...Good bread and dark chocolate might do me in!
Jackie, you are funny, what can I say, I like to cook, but a B.C. I am not! But, thank you!
Hi Brenda...My meals are really simpler than they may look.
Hi Claudia...I know you enjoy cooking from scratch!
Teresa. Horton's coffee is good...one can fix it stong and it remains smooth, I see why it's popular in Canada!
Jerelene you can come anytime, Tim Horton is a restaurant...new to our area, but popular in Canada.
Jientje, I will put up the recipes, they both freeze really well, and maybe e-mail too.
Hi Penny...healthy is best, but a good mixture of both is better!
Delwyn, the biscuits are a little heavier than rolls, but still light and crusty, the muffin is large, has whole grain cereal and flax meal sometimes, and I cheat with the salmon shortcakes, it's a can of cream of celery soup blended with some milk and a can of boneless salmon...olives, pimento, or fresh peppers etc. can be added as liked*easy*I improvise a lot. The *spread* I use is way less sweet than jam, it goes very well with cheddar cheese, it's delicious, Think = cheese & fruit!
Thanks Loree...I wonder what your food is like in Malta!
Hi Bonnie...
We will have to teach Delwyn...she is a fast learner and open minded, so it will be easy.
Good Morning Wanda!
Yummy post today! I'd have to say, yesterday I ate out with my husband... He had to work at a secondary office closer to home, so we met at a fun sandwich shop recommended by daughter, Rachael!
What recipe do you use for your fabulous looking biscuits? They look so buttery! (I use Betty Crocker).
All the best to you and family,
Maria
Good Morning Wanda,
Yummy! I got hungry just reading about what you ate. It looks so delicious and I can imagaine how delicious it taste, too. Where do you get all your receipes from?
Take care.
Hi Maria,
I use the White Lily Flour recipe, but I substitute a stick of butter for the shortening, melting it and then pouring it into the cold buttermilk while stirring, it rechills into small pieces.
Good morning Choices...I mostly improvise...change recipes to suit me...try to replicate complicated ones to something easier...canned cream soup sauces save me time...and I love many different spices and cheese for flavor! Just experiment with what you like!
Good morning here also and pre-breakfast. Not good to see all that great food, except the veggies.
You know, this would be a great diet plan. If I had to post everything I ate, I would make really good choices.
Food for thought.
Hi Wanda-
Everything you baked and or prepared looked SO delicious. I want to eat every dish you made, and those biscuits - I really love biscuits. :-)
Love Gail
peacfe....
I haven't eaten yet today...I'm coming over to your house for dinner! Yumm!!
The pictures were delicious!! I really like this idea of putting up what you are :D Lovely. I don't know what each of these taste like, but I'd sure be tempted to try them :) Have a lovely day ahead :)
Well! I commented here this morning and I guess it didn't take! I had said that someone needs to let Brenda know that you don't have to cook to be in the village! I hate cooking, all that time in the kitchen and then all that clean up, it's ridiculous! I'd much rather just pop over to Wanda's for a meal!
I also wanted to tell you Wanda that I found a mushroom in my little back yard and thought of you! I wanted to get a photo of it but Katie smashed it before I could, The nerve of that girl!
And who is this Tim Horton person? Is he related to Juan Valdez?
Love Di
Hi Patti...I like to make a few good choices so I can make a few bad ones too!
Hi Gail...I like to make enough so I can freeze plenty for other meals.
When you come Jann...I'll go back to South Dakota to see those falls.
Thank you Stillness.
Hi Diana...
It's a restaurant in Canada that came here recently...I had never heard of it except for Bernie and Teresa speaking of their coffee.
You are almost close enough to come for coffee!
This is another "Villager" who for MANY reasons won't be posting what WE ate. By comparison, we're sort of boring here. But I sure like to look! We did go out to one of our favorite restaurants today. We were the only ones there later in the afternoon and I asked the chef if he'd fix salmon off the dinner menu for me. He agreed, and it was delicious. My husband had one of the specials - seafood lasagna. Equally impressive! We both came home with 1/2 uneaten. We'll enjoy it tomorrow with some fresh sweet corn and tomatoes and some of catalope from Donna's garden. I guess that's not so shabby now after all! Maybe I'll even post about it tomorrow :)
Make that cantaloupe.
Oh, wanda, it all looks so yummy. I wish I was a mouse in your house. LOL
