.... Color Influences

Certain colors
seem to be dominating my world.

The Pinks.....

~

The Blues.....

~

...and

The Whites.....

~

We have the peachy pink

blossoms of the peach trees....
~

...the deeper pink of the

Magnolia blooms....

...the candy stripe pink...

in the Spring Beauties....

and the fresh pink...

of the Red Bud trees.

Pretty as they are though...

the flowers and the trees

can't compete...

with granddaughter Alivia...

in her pretty pink dress...

coloring white eggs...

pink and blue!

Blue could be my favorite color...

especially in the sky!

Violet is in the blue family...

These wild violets...

are throughout the yard.

These wild Phlox

are throughout the woods...

but...

I have transplanted...

some to the yard.

The vinca ground cover...

surrounds a tree by the drive...

...while the blue Ajuga grows...

with the Spring Beauties.

near a rock wall...

Still...

happy as they make me...

some things make me happier.

Like...

walking in the woods...

with granddaughter Amanda...

...while she

took photos of flowers.

~

She's dressed in blue!

It makes me happy too...

after a long walk in the woods...

to

catch a ride with granddaughter Katie...

coming down my drive.

Look...

she's also dressed in blue!

Sometimes White over shadows

Pink and Blue!

In the woods...

there's the white of the...

Rue Anemones...

with their dark specks of yellow.

There's the creamy white

of the...

Dutchman's Breeches...

...and the snow white Trillium
with it's spot of gold.
This one is by a Beech seed pod.

There's gold in the yard...

...and
on the slope of the hill.

Out back...
the natural White Dogwood
seen here in the late evening...
hasn't yet opened.....
full bloom...
but...
that same silvery setting sun...

made the barn
and the trees in the field...
glow that evening...

...and just a bit later...
...touches of gold!

I'm thinking...
maybe...
these colors influence me...
more than I know.
~
Like...sometimes...
bold colors
in my meals...you will find!

Recent favorites of nature...
...the pinks, blues, and whites...
are in...
some recently bought...
...clothing of mine!

Nature influences me greatly...
the apple trees weren't in bloom
...when this photo was taken...

But...
they are now beginning to blossom
and...
that's what my next post will be...

...because
the Red Buds and Spring Beauties
are fading........(just like me!)

Just joking...
since turning 65...
I thought it was appropriate!
~
Here's a little moss ♥ for you!

Oh Wanda I think that you are just beginning! Don't you? We seem to get more creative with age and by the way are you a gourmet cook? Your meals always look as if you are! The photos were wonderful and very soothing as usual. I love seeing your granddaughters hunting about in the woods! And Alivia very into her egg decorating! My husband has fallen in love with the Red Bud trees and keeps trying to figure out where we can put one! Thanks for the nice walk Wanda! Love Di ♥

Hi Wanda

What a transformation from beneath that blanket of white emerges an artists palette of beautiful colour...I am always in awe of how delicate flowers can emerge from the once frozen ground.
I would love to join you in a walk through the colours of spring - I know that colour has a powerful effect on our moods and outlooks...

Wanda your heart is always blossoming...

Beautiful as usual Wanda. You just amaze that you take one thing like "colors" and just run with it. Nice job! This is truly a wonderful time of year for color -God's majesty in all His glory.. Have missed you...Hey 65 is not bad! Realization for me was when the Medicare card arrived and I have to admit that gave me a double take//////

Dear Wanda, I have spend such a long and peaceful time with you this evening, enlarging your photos and enjoying your lovely spring. My favorites are of the Red Bud trees and the golden glow on the barn and beyond the curving lane. I cannot believe all the flowers that are blooming already - and to think your last snow wasn't too long ago. The Grand daughters are growing - will Amanda become the next family Nature photographer? Smiles to you, Wanda - love the moss heart, too! Your photos and writing make my own Heart glad!

Hi Wanda,
Just got home from work and a walk with Molly. Nothing is really blooming here yet, at least not anything colorful.

I don't think the weather here wants to give up winter yet, but I know Spring and all the lovely colors are on their way!!!

Thankyou for sharing your colorful world, and yes, I too think that color around us influences us in so many ways.

I also wanted to thank you for your kind words to me on my blog and for all your encouragement.

I am trying to blog more often, because I love it. Hopefully, things will slow down a bit soon in my job, so I can spend more time on other things and stop and smell the roses.

What a lovely walk through Spring with you. I enjoyed all the gorgeous flowers. The trillium photo took me back to my childhood, but sadly trilliums don't grow here in Fairbanks. I'm looking forward to seeing your dogwood blossoms--and to seeing some spring flowers here in Fairbanks.

Wanda~ it looks so beautiful where you live... how nice to be able to spend time w/ your granddaughters.. and introduce them all to your love of nature! How great that Amanda is interested in photography at a young age! It's a great tool for catching those transitory moments in time, and aids in paying attention to the little things, don't you think?
:) oh, and thanks for putting the little moss heart in at the end~ i just love those hearts!

Oh, Wanda, you're not getting older, you're getting BETTER!
Beautiful, wise, creative, and surrounded by love! Who could ask for more?

Another beautiful post! I love your photos, and I love seeing your family, especially Alivia so intent on coloring her eggs!

Our weather has turned nicer too, but not nearly as many flowers as you have! Although our lilacs have bloomed out back, and that's a very pretty sight!

Okay, I've had Jayden home sick all week, and we are both getting cabin fever now!
I'm taking out back to paint a little now before dinner.

Have a wonderful week!
Love to you,
Eileen

You don't have to leave home to have a vacation! Except for mountains, you have almost all the wildflowers, trees and flowering shrubs that we saw on our 2-week-vacation!

I think the sky in the picture you accidentally included twice is amazing!

If I was forced to choose, I think I'd have to go with the blues. (Fortunately, I'm not forced.)

So good to visit you and "yours" again.

1. Each and every picture is simply mind blowing!

2. I can't get enough of the scenic beauty around the place you live. I've a special liking for the sun peeking through the trees on your driveway (I am sure I've told you that already!)

3. Just how do you know the names of every tree, every flower, every bird, every animal! It boggles me :D

4. I've never seen flowers on an apple tree (Not even an apple tree). So that was great!

5.You are a professional photographer in my eyes!

When Nature is generous with her flowers in so many colours, how do we choose? Have you noticed that Nature's colours all go together, no clashing here!
I confess to blue being a favourite though, my heart always beats a little faster when I see violets, crocus, bluebells and the like. I'm not sure if the Tilliums are in flower here yet or not. They are our provincial flower, I must go and find out. I know a place where they bloom in pink and burgundy!
Big hugs
