Sitting and Watching

After a few warm days...the daffodils were greeted by
a chilly morning yesterday...on our first day of Spring.
.

We've had nice days for watching...not only the birds...
.
but the clouds.

There were some rather strange looking ones...
.
What do you see in this cloud?

Maybe this...

What ever it is...it looks sad to me!

I on the other hand...was very happy that day to see

my granddaughter Amanda and Bronson.

Bronson is Amanda's boy friend...
.
he was visiting from Georgia during his spring break.

On Thursday, I met Alivia half-way up the drive...

She brought her backpack along for our walk...

We ended up sitting in the swing first.

While there a rather large jet passed overhead...

We watched it fade in the distance while
.
Grampa was cutting the tall dried grass in the field.

We then took our walk down to the other end of the field...

ended up at another place to do some sitting for a while...

on a bench...my son Steve made.

.

In the field we saw...
a young locust tree with really sharp thorns...
.

and this common cockle-bur plant...
also known as Velcro!
.

As we were leaving...Alivia left some of her banana
.
in the hollow of a tree...for the squirrels to eat.

Then yesterday...the first day of Spring...
.
we watched our grandson Dustin come down the drive.....
.

and then later we had our first strawberry pie of the season!

Spring!!!

Wanda: It makes me so happy to know there is someone out there reading and commenting on my blog! I agree with the other folks who have commented here. Yes, your grandchildren are beautiful and I love your photographs too. Are they all taken on your family's property?

Of course, as the owner/human companion of a springer spaniel, I was especially interested in the common cockle bur known as VELCRO. You can only imagine how many I have teased out of Rosie's coat over the years. Enjoy this beautiful day.

Hi Wanda,
I enlarged the daffodil and looked at it a l-o-n-g time. I liked the burr, too - such interesting shapes - did you use a special macro lense? I must admit that I also had to enlarge the strawberry pie. I almost went to get a fork. I haven't made one in years, and yours looks mouthwatering.

Happy spring to you!

Thank you Barb...no special lens just a macro zoom in feature on a Fugiflm Finepix S700 camera.

It's Pinocchio in the clouds!
Yes, he is sad --- because his nose has grown.

Mmmm....Your pie looks delicious. Any left over?
