I'm doing a first time Friday Favorites for Eileen!
I have several wooden boxes...this is a favorite.....it sits
on a table in the livingroom and...
.
...holds 3 wooden puzzles Annette gave to me...
2 of these puzzles are almost impossible to do!

This clock chimes on the hour with bird songs...
I actually have 2 now....one I had gifted to my Mother...
one is in my computer room and one in the kitchen.

This is a small vase my Mother created...
by gluing small pebbles together. It holds a special
figurine...the bottle to the right holds birdseed...
in which small items are buried...one tries to locate
a list of things within by shaking and turning.
You'll notice a hen on a nest...remember
I told you I was a nester in the previous post.
I relate to birds...I guess!
That's a few of the fun favorites I have Eileen.

I love all your favorites!
The puzzles make me think of my father-in-law, he always loved to do those type of puzzles, and the chain link ones, and the Rubik's cube!
And the box they are kept in is really a beauty.
I really like the idea of looking for things in the bottle!
And how innovative of your Mom, and it's so unique and so beautiful, and such a wonderful sentimental, memory-evoking treasure! I think that is why your Mom's pebble vase is my most favorite of all your favorites.
Have a great weekend!
And thanks so much for all your kind comments that you leave on my blog!
Hi Wanda, I have an award for you too. I absolutely love your favorites, especially the bird clock. My mom had one of those too, but I have no idea where it went after she passed away. She loved that clock so much. I do have a little figurine like yours that you have in the pebble dish your mother made. The angel figurine was my moms, and I cherish it. It certainly is one of my favorite things too. Thank you again for the award. I appreciate it so much. I hope you will accept mine. (((HUGS))) T
I really liked the vase your mother made. It is SO beautiful :) And so is the box of puzzles :) Thanks for sharing your favorites with us :)
Hi Wanda, love your favorite things and how they show memories of your mum.
Wanda I am worried about Stillness, tried to access her post and says she no longer has a page. The beginning of her post in reader is what made me concerned. I left her a message on my comments but am unsure if she will read it. I do hope it's my computer, can you try to reach her on yours. I just think it's time to circle the wagons and let her know how much we care. Thank you my friend....:-) Hugs
Wanda your Friday favorites were real treasures. The puzzle box is quite beautiful and I would love to hear that clock. Very unique! And the vase that your mother made is so neat I'd like to try something like that. I wonder how she did it?
Wanda...I absolutely LOVE the items you've shared with us today. My favorite is the vase your Mother made. My eyes just 'lit up' as I looked at it...how very precious. I love the boxes that you collect....and you know what? One of my favorite songs in the world is playing on your blog as I type...
Smiles,
Jackie
This morning I took a note to the aerobics class that I had scribbled after reading Gift from the Sea last night because I wanted to discuss something with the woman who gave the book tome to read, and then I couldn't find my glasses and she had to read the note to me (which she could barely do because my writing is so bad). I love your cardinal in the snow picture...
That is such beautiful box and I do love puzzles!
My first thought was how fitting that box is for Wanda...lovely, colorful and different, in the best sense of the word.
Then to see the treasured and hand made vase from your mother...my mom once wove a pine straw basket that I gave to my DIL and now I kind of wish I had it still, but Brande is a treasurer of special things. Did your mother make other things as well?
You are delightfully creative, so I love the birdseed bottle with hidden things and I dearly love little birds, so the nest and bird are precious...that calls to mind your Indian heritage as well.
blessings and hugs,
marcy
I love the pebble vase. It's one of my favorites, too. I would've loved to watch her make it.
Hello Wanda,
To tell you the truth, Annette's comment made me cry a little - how sweet and heartfelt. I have an angel like yours but sitting and holding a bunny. My mother was partial to rabbits, and it reminds me of her. YOU are surely a favorite of many people.
I love wooden boxes also and have many from travels or local artisans. But--not puzzles-those look interesting. I have a bird clock without the songs. We have similar favorite things!
