Nature provides us with many shapes and patterns
to enjoy! Some...full of color and life.....
-enlarge Poppy for detail-
~
...some are delicate and airy...
.
like this Sassafras tree seen here in spring.....
~

while nature made others...very bold and big...
.
this Burdock plant has grown about 4ft. across.
.
See the rock on the right...I often wonder...
.
was it chiseled away by man for a purpose....
.
or just created by nature...
.
for me to find and ponder?

The shapes on the trunk of this Black Locust...
.
by the drive...
.
are dark and foreboding.....
...but turns lacy and friendly.....
.
as you look toward the sky.

This young tree has me perplexed...
.
it grew back into itself; making a circle...
.
what would cause such growth?
.
It will be interesting...
.
to keep going back...to check.

This Tree of Heaven
with it's long frond-like leaves.....
appeared on it's own only
3 years ago and it's over 25 ft. tall.
The pattern and shape of this Wild Cherry tree...
.
looks like an "uncomfortable" prom dress.....to me!

These beautiful patterns may have caused.....
the demise of this tree...
-photos enlarge-
...the radiating lines look like insects themselves...
...if you look closely you'll find ants here and there...
...on this dead...mahogany colored log.

This pattern of bright healthy green Moss...
.
makes this dead log...appear full of life.
This tree grows tall with just a small crown of leaves...

...while this tall tree seems.....
.
.....just to be dancing in the breeze.

While removing a leaning and broken...
.
...but not yet fallen tree.....
.
guess what we discovered in the center...
.
at the very heart of the tree!
.
at the very heart of the tree!
.

Heart felt thanks to all who read!

Another great post!
I really look forward to seeing that you've posted something new!
It's like a little trip to Heaven, an oasis for the soul.
I also looked at your 'heart' post, I love hearts! And I collect heart-shaped rocks too!
'Love all the pictures, it's hard to pick one, really enjoy the quirky trees, especially the prom dress, but I think the 'heart of the tree' is my most favorite!
Very beautiful! I look forward you each and everyone of your posts. Shear beauty!
There is so much for us to enjoy, if only we use our eyes to see! Mother Nature is so creative!
Hi Wanda,
I am so enjoying nature, because of you, and your wonderful blog...I see so much, that I never really looked for before. I find it so intriging and oh the sights you can see...if you take the time to look! I especially like the 'heart of the tree', and the 'heaven tree', it looked glorious!!! I felt like I take a trip to heaven, when I visit your blog. Thank you!!!
Oh, and the tree, growing in a circle, reminds me of a YOGA POSE! I loved that one too!
Not only am I stunned by your gorgeous photography, but also by the fact that you know the name of every flower and tree. How do you do it?
Maybe you are drawn to finding these hearts because you are a sweet heart yourself!
blessings,
marcy
I thought the same as Teresa with the tree growing in a circle! Your photo's are beautiful Wanda! You always give me a different perspective on nature when I see it through your eyes. Thank you for that.

What a nice peaceful post~beautiful photo's and your music is just so pleasing. You have a very inspiring blog~I enjoy your writings so much. God bless, Rose
Amazing - to come up with the idea of "shapes" and then photograph them, catalog them, and provide the just-right commentary to help me travel from one to another... You have a distinct and admirable gift, Wanda.
Hello Wanda
I have come to you via Mr Grizzled....
I love your nature pictures - it is so enjoyable to see a very different part of the world.
I find the trackings on the fallen log fascinating. We have a moth whose larva eats scribbles into a gum tree making unusual patterns.
Happy Days
Wanda, Another wonderful and informative post. Hard to pick a favorite as they all are beautiful, but I thought you really were spot on with the prom dress. Hope everything went ok today Wanda, been thinking about you both off and on all day.....Luv ya...:-) Hugs
Thank you for taking all of us on a wonderful walk with you :) You're eye for detail is impeccable :) There is so much beauty in nature, and it's always so calming to be here on your page :) Take care Wanda and keep smiling :)
Gosh I love your photos..thank you for another quiet and lovely post.
I love finding heart-shaped patterns in nature. The close-ups of the bark on the tree intrigued me - I really need to look more carefully at life. All so very lovely.
The shot of the bee in the poppy is great, love all your pics of trees and plants.
Hello Wanda,
I'm listening to your Silence Has Broken - one of my favorites! I'm catching up with you after a respite for Grandchildren and Gardens. Both are fun and uplifting for me (exhausting, too!). Loved the Mermaid dress and the Yoga tree. However, my favorite was the moss -so much beauty and life in Nature even when something has fallen and is decaying.
Happy 6th to Alicia! Amanda and Ben turned 6 in Feb.
Hi Wanda,
That 4' burdock plant is a good picture and some very nice leaves there.
Here is an account I posted on my blog on how Burdock Leaves are used in burn treatment.
John Keim, an Amish alternative practitioner discovered this a number of years back after having treated his own child with the traditional burn treatment methods.
I have been posted lots of information on this in my Burn Treatments category and I would like you to take a look at it and let me know what you think.
Bob.
your love for Nature and your never ending passion to capture it and to bring home a part of it is so significantly seen through this post.
