Remember the nest of 4 eggs in the pine tree...

with mother Robin keeping watch...
.

then they hatched into fragile babies with fuzz...
who all slept a lot...
.
well they sprouted a thin coat of feathers...
but remained just as sleepy...
.
within days their feathers thickened...
and wide awake and hungry they became...
...changing...
...waiting to be fed.

Always ready for food...
opening their mouth wide...
when they thought it was time.

They became very alert...
looking more like
their parents as they grew...
... changing...

Then one day I found them in the trees...

and not long after that...changing to this...
Always ready for food...
opening their mouth wide...
when they thought it was time.

They became very alert...
looking more like
their parents as they grew...
... changing...

Then one day I found them in the trees...
and not long after that...changing to this...
still being lovingly fed...
-all photos enlarge-
and later taught to search on their own.
and later taught to search on their own.
quietly waiting somewhere for their mother's return.
-twin fawns-
throughout the winter.
they could be seen visiting alone...
-changing-
one is a little more cautious than the other...
and always seems ready to flee.
and always seems ready to flee.
Just last week they were visiting in the field...
you can see they are beginning to grow antlers.

It's a beautiful series of robin photos and how fortunate to be able to track the deer over time!
What a beautiful series!!! You are so fortunate to live amidst this beauty!
A delightful treat, all my favourites, except the toadstool may be. The blue of those robin eggs will always stay with me. Good choice of music too!
Your post reminds me of the Ecclesiastes verse:
"For every thing there is a season, and a time for every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die;
A time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted......"
A lovely series of pictures!
Hi Wanda,
Your Changing post was thought-provoking. I enjoyed all the pictures and did enlarge them so I could see the details. I marveled over your baby Robin photos - something I've never seen before. The before and after mushroom was wonderful. I spent this weekend with my family in Aspen - all of us changing and growing and getting older day-by-day. I'll soon be home.
Ohhhh...this was wonderful. I feel I have found a true gem in your blog.

It was so beautiful to see the metamorphosis of eggs to beautiful robins! I have yet to see something like this firsthand! Even the pictures of the baby deer were very beautiful! Animals take care of their young just like humans do, and the similarity is so endearing. Lovely post Ma'm :) Take care :)( and thanks for your comment on my blog :D )
I love your photos of the eggs, baby robins, the fawns, the deer, the moth, the caterpillar, the irises, poppies....[EVERYTHING]. Another beautiful post!
My spirit is always calmed when I look at your beautiful pictures. It's absolutely amazing how much you see in nature and can capture with the camera! The closest I came to a robin's egg this year so far was a broken one I found on my deck out back! :(
Oh Wanda all of your post are beautiful but this one ...... I find it absolutely amazing. The nest with eggs too beautiful robins tended by their mother and the twin fawns, well I could of cried when I saw them. You are so blessed not only to be surrounded by such beauty but to be able to capture it on camera to share with all of us. It's like you are sharing your blessings as well my friend....
Have a wonderful Monday.....:) Hugs

Wanda, I enjoyed watching the robins too. Mine left their nest on Mothers Day,how appropriate! And your second photo of the Iris turning in on itself, kind of reminded me of whats happening to me!!!!!
Your gorgeous pictures are made more so by the on target and thought provoking comments you give them. This 'cause to pause' reminds one that each moment should be treasured and of course, is a blessing!
Thank you for being so patient and sharing these wonders with all of us...yet another of my magnificent blessings!
blessings on you,
marcy
Thank you just as much Diana and Marcy!
Hi Wanda, I am back from the lake where I visited nature in all it's teeming wonder...but never thought about how everything changes, and nothing, absolutely nothing ever stays the same...very thought provoking! The circle of life... changing, seeming to die, then re-newing itself. I loved your blog, as I always do.
((((HUGS)))) T
Thank you so very much Teresa...glad you are back!
Thanks for visiting me Wanda! this is another beautiful post, everything so well laid out and awe inspiring! And yes, those were wild geraniums, they arre very beautiful and all over the place this spring!
I love the poppy. It looks I can reach out and touch the silkiness of it.
How di you get those photos of the baby birds? Oh my! Very special and sweet. Would you like to come live here for a few days and I will go live in your yard? It's fine now - really. The lake isn't frozen anymore.
