Spent the Last Day

This was yesterday's golden sunrise, which led to
a beautiful warm day...the last day of March.

The bright early sun created long shadows in the yard...
Spring is here to stay...maybe!?!?!

...More plants are sprouting ...the daffodils are fuller...

The ornamental grasses are showing activity.....

...right along with this Eastern Phoebe...can you see him?

-photos enlarge-

The deer have more spring in their walk across the field...

and this squirrel is determined to enter the squirrel proof

bird feeder...every spring the younger squirrels have to learn...

they can't!

Alivia...my youngest grandchild...usually comes back
on Tuesdays...after Kindergarten to spend the day!
This small tree looked like this before she arrived...

After she was here awhile....

it ended up looking....

like this...

She decorated for Easter...
.
and within minutes
.
there was a squirrel checking it out!

Just hope they stay out of the spring-time wreath ...

Alivia and I made for the door!

Ater finishing outside, we went in for lunch...

I had made scalloped potatoes topped with zuchinni
the day before.

That's what blogging does to you...
you end up taking photos of food you make...

or

ones of your granddaughter doing dishes...
which she begs to do...honest!...
.

Alivia always finds time to play with some dolls

while here...

and she did a little more Easter decorating too...

Then we went to the kitchen again....

and this time...it was to....

bake a cake...

which we and grampa...quickly cut into and ate!

So that is how I spent the last day of March...

"-which went out like a lamb- "

...just spending some special time with Alivia...

...and watching her move the Easter decorations...around !!!

Happy April Fool's Day, Wanda!
Snowing hard here in Breckenridge - it was wonderful to come up your winding lane and visit with you for awhile. Why do I always get so hungry when I'm reading your blog? I wish you could hand a piece of that delicious looking cake to me through the computer! Your new door wreath looks like spring. I still have my antique sled at my door - do you think if I put it inside, it'll stop snowing?

Alicia reminds me so much of Amanda - she likes to "help" me, too.

Anyway, thanks for taking me out of the winter doldrums...

I love your Easter tree. We usually do one, but this year I don't think we'll get the chance. That cake looks awesome. Happy Easter.

Wanda, the strawberry bread was delicious...it sold fairly well considering no one had ever heard of it, but if you make it, be sure to chop the berries up in chunks, because if you don't the bread is too gooey...hope you like it! Your pictures are gorgeous as usual, and that grandaughter is beautiful!
