A Little Bit of Everything

We've had several days with rain and a few
hazy and foggy mornings...a little bit of everything...

.
so I 'm not surprised to find

tiny white mushrooms springing up in the dampness...
.

...but I was surprised to find this little guy on the

gazebo...

-all photos enlarge-
'

I think with the bright morning sun...he wanted down...

so I very gently tugged, pried him off the railing...
.
...placed him on a rock so he could find his way home.

Most mornings when I work outside...I go out

the back door...which is actually a side door...to
.
the back porch...which is actually a side porch...
.
I turn right and...

go down these narrow steps to the front yard...

then I turn left and go down these stone steps
which I made myself when younger...
I would not attempt it now!

After getting the tools from the shed yesterday...
I headed for the flower garden.
The flowerbeds needed my attention badly.
The Poppies have gone into their dormant stage...

and their yellowing plants had to be removed...

and some flowers just needed to be dead headed....

like these cheerful yellow Coreopsis.....

...the Speedwell was doing fine...no attention needed...

later...by the time I finished pruning and weeding...

I had a wheelbarrow full of "a little bit of everything"...

...something like the homemade soup
I had made the day before...
which we had for lunch after working outside...

After lunch.....
Herhusband returned to the field to cut the grass.

Our son Steve had brought his mower over yesterday...
and cut most of the yard...so I need to thank him...

Here I caught both of them mowing out front...

in the same area where the day before I caught...

this fawn approaching me...coming out of the woods....

I think I startled him...he leaped...
I thought he was running off...

but he paused a few feet away...

eating some greens....

while keeping an eye on me....

He grew less cautious.....

even comfortable...I think...

approaching me even closer.....

He stayed for quite awhile.....

...before leaping...and then running off!

First of all, I'm coming for dinner. Your soup looks delicious. 2nd of all, your photos are stunning! The deer are precious and the flowers so happy to look at. What a paradise you live in.

Your photography is astounding! Did you get a new camera? And can I have your old one? :)
The wildlife and your flowers are so plentiful and beautiful. Beauty surrounds you, because it loves your good heart. Corny, but it's true.

Okay, I can't take it anymore.
Heaven, it's Heaven.
And you are a female St. Francis of Assisi.
Animals actually pose for you!

Seriously, I was feeling down about a friend in need, but I visit here, and my spirit is uplifted.
Thank you, Wanda.
Sincerely love this blog,
Eileen
P.S. ~ Post the soup recipe!

Hello Wanda

the markings on your beautiful little fawn resemble the solar system in an observatory...

thanks for the refreshing walk around your colourful garden and woods.

What a lovely life tending your garden, eating soup...finding surprise visitors...

Happy days

Hello Wanda,
I loved the picture of the snail on the rock - such beautiful patterns and textures. The photo of the fawn framed by the purple clematis is beautiful. Your garden pictures make me excited for mine which is growing quickly. In another couple weeks there should be some blooms. That video makes me think you may have a frequent little visitor. He looks quite content munching away! Smiles to you...

Hi Wanda,
Your blog was a joy to come home to tonight, after a very long and strange day for me. I wish I could come and sit on your deck and have a cup of tea with you, and thank you for all the blessings and wisdom you share with us. I will always keep that in mind about "not being rejected, just not being chosen". It puts a whole new twist on the situation.

Oh my friend another truly blissful post. I am not sure what I enjoyed the most your pictures or Annette's beautiful comments to her mum. It all warmed my heart. I have never seen a more beautiful place, father, son and mother and daughter. I love everything about this post Wanda and how you share all your blessings with us........:-) Hugs

Hello Wanda, I so enjoyed our walk together! I really liked your soup! I have something in my yard that looks like your speedwell. I thought it was a weed at first but wasn't sure as my friend gave me so many plants so I left it alone. I will have to take a picture of it and have you look at it. If it is a weed, it's pretty!

I really liked getting to 'walk with you' as went out into storybook land! Your deck/porch is so pretty and the stone steps, what a great idea!

So, you actually have to work in storybook land...can't you just whistle and birdies and all come to do your work?

Love the wrought iron gate...is it in the front, side or back?

And now I wouldn't be surprised to get a photo of you hugging the little fawn!!

blessings and thanksgiving and hugs,

marcy

Hi Marcy...that's an archway out at the start of the garden in the front and the birds are no help...in fact they just add to the work ...having to fill 6 feeders for them!

Your post is beautiful! Loved the flowers and expecially the little fawn. You capture your lovely spot so well. I thought of you when I was out riding bike in a lovely place yesterday and saw a skunk, birds and other wildlife but no fawn. You are blessed.

Wow! Beautiful. You are so lucky to see things like this. We on occasion have had some deer run through our yard and the meadow across the road, but nothing like this. In fact, I can't remember the last time I saw them. I think it's been about 2 years.
