In this room I get distracted...when trying to read...
there are books on the daybed...as you can see...
but it's what goes on outside this window...
that constantly...bothers me...
.
first it might just be birds at the feeder...
.

or new baby woodpeckers...together on the tree...

or 3 feisty squirrels...playing at their game of tag.

This morning a deer came in for a snack...

Last year they ate on my Stella de Oro Lilies...
seen here this morning in the rain.

and these are the Asiatic Lilies from my last post...
but...heavier here in bloom.

This gazing ball is in the middle of a....

long flower bed that leads to the gazebo....

...in which I like to sit.....and read...
I discovered someone else enjoys it there too....

which leaves me wondering what to do...
found it in the gazebo...on the half barrel table...
it's too large to bother...
once described by a "Scribe" (click to see)
as the size of a German Shepherd!!!
-enlarges-

What would you do?
Scream and leave it alone...
maybe...find it a new home???
Here's one last look!
~

After that you deserve something sweeter...
so here's a baby fox...

and a not quite sweet peach still on the tree.

Here's tomato blossoms hanging on the vine...

and little mushroom umbrellas growing in the garden.

We do have baby Bluebirds...here's one on the bench.

This is a leaf twisted in on itself...caught in a bind!

Happy Birthday Cindy!
I sooo love the baby fox --- how darling! Sorry, can't say the same about the spider. If I met a spider like that, I'd let out a bloody SCREAM; RUN in circles; and DROP whatever was in my hands ...and then, I'd RUN! I know that because that's what I do when the cats bring in a mouse!...What did "you" do?
Wanda, every time I come here I am amazed! Seriously, you need to get these pictures published, you should create a nature picture book! I actually get so absorbed here! Just beautiful.
I hate spiders, and even he/she looked beautiful!
And then your people pictures ~ more beautiful!
Thanks for sharing!
All Best Wishes to Cindy!
I'm going back to take another look!
Wow I find it hard to find the words to the feelings of how much beauty you post on your blog. Thank you!
Well all the photos were gorgeous. I loved the baby woodpeckers the best. But Wanda really, that spider thing? I think it would be awhile before I could go back to sit, read and relax(?) there!!!! Happy Birthday Cindy Lee!!!!
Oh my, I never know where to start--there is so much beauty! I feel a twinge of jealousy over all of the birds that you see! and the fox and the deer but not so much the spider.
How you capture the joy and beauty around you! I needed your photographic skills today as a red-winged blackbird (I think) male defended his nest from workers who were trying to do their job trimming and weeding in a flower bed near the shrub containing his nest. The female was there too, acting as a decoy, I think. The male swooped and scolded, coming very close to hitting several of the men! Fascinating for me and the grandkids to watch.
You have touches of Heaven all about you, Wanda and now you share it with us...thank you, thank you!
Your photography should be on display in art galleries! It even looks as if the flowers posed for you and we know for sure the adorable baby birds, baby fox and deer posed, but did I see a crafty smile on that spider's face?? Was he saying "Hee hee, now this gazebo is all mine, hee hee"??
blessings and hugs,
marcy
Hello Wanda,
The sunflower seed is my favorite, of course, and those heart-shaped rocks! Every time I see your gazing ball, I think maybe this year - in Breckenridge - such a ball would look lovely in my garden. I see you have a "rogues' gallery of family photos - I do, too. Don't worry about the spider - it's only Charlotte - she means no harm - she's very intelligent. Someday, you'll come into the Gazebo, and she'll have a message spelled out for you in her web. I love when you close with the curvy, welcoming drive!
Hi Wanda,
Happy Birthday to Cindy!
I think I would be running and screaming out of that Gazebo, just like Annette, if I saw a spider like that!!! Yes! What did you do? I also loved the baby fox and the baby bluebird! And I would love to drive down your drive and have a cup of tea in your Gazebo with you...if you got rid of that spider, otherwise we would have to sit on the porch or perhaps take a walk and you could tell me all the names of the flowers in your beautiful flower beds! Loved your blog today!
Wanda I'm sure when I get to heaven it's going to look just like your place. Everything is beautiful from the flowers, plants, birds, animals, I didn't even mind the spider after all God made him too! The pictures of your family is what makes your home so inviting. I am so happy for you my friend, lovely home and beautiful children and grandchildren, you are blessed....I love getting lost in your pictures.......:-) Hugs
Happy Birthday to Cindy and hugs to Alivia
I would love to come down your drive Wanda. I'm away in a min to look up if there are Wolf Spiders in the UK, eeeek! but before I do the biggest of big thanks for the beauty you bring into others' lives.
I swear, we both photographed the same spider. What is it around these parts, a plague or something?
On the other hand, I like your rocks. I brings rocks in all the time, as I have done all my life. (And moved them along with the furniture from one house to another, too!) And those young—foxes, bluebirds, woodpeckers…grandkids. Your life is blessed beyond measure. What a lovely, lovely post.
Before I forget, ...HAPPY BIRTHDAY CINDY LEE!!
This again was such a beautiful post. If I lived where you live, I would get distracted all the time from my reading, I can understand! My that was SOME spider you got there, eww! The baby woodpeckers look so charming and your garden is should be featured in a glossy magazine. It's always such a pleasure visiting here, Wanda!
OMG Wanda!! All of these pictures are spectacular :D I Specially liked the dew covered Stella de Oro Lilies ( So want me to see rains here :) )and the Asiatic lilies. They were outright gorgeous!! I also liked the picture of the gazebo and the last picture of your driveway!! I so wish I could live there too. That place seems like a piece of heaven :)
Such a beautiful Stella d'oro. I have a beautiful lush row of them, lush foliage that is because the deer eat the first flowers and all the buds along with them. This was after spraying with $18.00 a quart 'Deer Stopper'. How do you keep the deer away? They love my lillies and hostas, too.
I thoroughly enjoy your blog!
Hello Wanda
this is an idyllic setting you have...such beauty and you have captured so many facets of us to enjoy vicariously.
Thank you, I am going to enjoy my visits to your place...
Happy Days
